People who don't know my mother are told by my friends, "If you've seen her, then you've seen her mother."
This is because we are so much alike: we talk alike, sound alike, cook alike, decorate our houses alike, enjoy the same hobbies, read the same kind of books, etc, etc, etc. Does this mean we are the same person? Absolutely not!
The statement made at John 14:9 was spoken because Jesus Christ, the SON of God, is so very much like his heavenly Father in every way. And, since no one can see the Father (John 1:18), getting to know Jesus helps one get to know Jehovah God as well.

One Father, one Son and one Holy Ghost. Three separate and distinct beings that form the Godhead, Jesus is the express image of the Father, meaning both have physical bodies and look identical. Jesus prayed to the Father and taught others to pray directly to the Father, in his name. The Father acknowledged his Son aloud.

alright this is from a mormon's point of view. Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, and The Holy Ghost are 3 separate beings. Jesus said when he died he would send a comforter (John 14:18). And how can Jesus be his own son? If you like my idea and you aren't Mormon, you can contact your local Mormon Church through the phone book

Because Jesus wants the same thing AS HIS FATHER. AND THAT IS FOR GODS WILL TO BE DONE UPON THE EARTH WHEN HIS (NOT OUR) BUT WHEN GOD'S KINGDOM WILL BE ESTABLISHED UPON THE EARTH AFTER THE "END TIMES." Not now, but later. This is why Jesus said "be no part of this earth" i.e., don't vote or try to make it better, because it belongs to Satan right now, ONLY God's Kingdom will be Eternal and then will it matter what rule will be. So KEEP seeking out the kingdom of god and don't worry about this old world.
That's what he meant. Christ's world (Israel) was ruled by Rome, it was OCCUPIED by Rome, yet you never heard him speak out badly about Rome, because He was preaching about the World to come, not this one.

All these answers are right on. If you were to meet Jesus, it would be just like meeting God. They want the same (for us to return to live with them) and they love us the same (John 3:16).
