Never had a single problem with this car. It has 98,000 miles and runs great. But lately the ac light starts blinking and shuts off. It doesn't do this all of the time for some reason. Any ideas on what could be going on? I don't want to take it to a Toyota dealer since they will charge a freagin' fortune. My husband can fix just about anything so if he has an idea about what's wrong, he can fix it himself.

Well maybe maybe the reason why it's blinking cause
maybe it's telling you to replace the filter of the a/c or
just go to an auto store so they can check what's wrong !

it means the air is kicking in and out,,this may be caused by low freon,,also could be caused by cycling,,which is a normal process,,but i don't think that is what your,s is doing,,you may have a loose wire on the compressor,,causing this,,or a pressure sensor going bad,,and the pressure sensor is located on the end where you add the freon,,it,s just a safety valve really,,but it will cause it to come on and off like that,,good luck,,i hope this help,s.,,also there is one other thing,,there is an air conditioner relay,,located under the hood somewhere,,and it will cause this same thing.

YOU DON'T SAY IF THE AIR CONDITIONER IS WORKING OR NOT. BELOW IS A LINK TO A Q&A SITE WITH A SIMILAR PROBLEM.
IF THAT DOESN'T HELP YOU CAN SEARCH BY PROBLEM FROM THE HOME PAGE.

It simply means the car is in love with you. Don't get panicky.
