$1800 for a top quality show dog. $1200 for a great pet quality dog from top bloodlines with great temperaments.

I plan on around $800 for a pet Labrador Retriever but I've been considering showing so I may pay around $2000. That's from a actual show breeder though not just anybody. If you show and have high quality dogs that you know the backgrounds (health, temperaments, quality, etc) on you are going to be able to do a lot better.

Me personally? I would pay $350 maximum, but I am a college student, so when I'm out of school and making mid-level kind of money I may pay up to 7 or 8 hundred.

My next Boston female, I will probably be spending 4 digits, but I'm after a champion... Bossies are always worth their weight in gold, and then some!
We spent over 2K for a very beautiful, healthy English Bulldog, as well. She's worth every little penny, too!

I was ready to spend $2000 on an Entlebucher Mountain dog (quite rare), because it seemed so perfect for me. Instead I decided to get a dog from a shelter (we're going to start looking in 2 weeks!!)

Probably 5thousand for a pit fighting dog. I can easily double that in a week if my dog wins most of his fights. I'd prefer an American Pit Bull with a champion/killer bloodline.

$2500.... but, I would give more for an adult. I am really wanting a son of my favorite dog in our breed... I would pay as much as was asked for one of his sons... They are all older dogs now. I think the youngest is 6 or 7 years old.

For our breed, mastiffs, $2500 seems to be the going rate for a show quality puppy from championed, health tested (OFA hips, OFA elbows, OFA heart, OFA thyroid, VwD, cystinuria, PRA DNA, OFA Cardiac, etc) parents. I would probably go up to $3500 for a mastiff from "exceptional" parents-- ie, a dog that has been dead for a few years that they are using frozen sperm from.

Well I want a dog, I want a teacup yorkie and those dogs start around $1,000 and go up as high as $3,000, but knowing that they really don't get that much bigger. I wouldn't spend no more then $1,500.

that would depend on the breed, the color, the rarity of the breed in my area, the quality of the puppy, the reputation of the breeder.....etc.
