I'd like real examples, not something you culled out of the buy-bull. And I especially don't want to hear "Because God said so". I don't believe in christian dogma, so therefore I don't believe in the christian god.

Just so you know, I'm Wiccan. I'm sick and tired of people saying that were are just closeted Satanists, and we are worshipping the devil.

Wicca is completely different than Satanism. As a matter of fact, when you get the two mixed, practitioners on both sides get really offended.

Wicca is an Earth-based religion. The guiding principle is "Harm none". Where as Satanism is more about oneself and you are your only God.

As an x pagan, I know that Wiccans are not Satanists.

I know that Wiccans do not even believe in the Christian devil.
I researched Wicca for a while before becoming a Pagan, I actually had many Wiccan principals in my belief system, but I didn't follow the exact Wiccan path, I followed more of a my Native American Pagan Culture.

I have since become a Christian, and I no longer worship nature, I worship the wonderful God who created it all. It feels great.

Don't judge all Christians on how some of them treat you. We are all created equal, and nobody should look down on you.
Judgement is not something that Jesus Christ taught. He taught us to be loving and compassionate and to show the world his Love.

Well, first off it comes from the assumption that Christianity is the only true religion. The same argument that's used to call Wicca, Satanism, is the same argument they used to claim that the Jews were Satanists in Nazi Germany and other anti-Semitic cultures. Wicca's been around for allot longer than the Idea of a Christian God, or Devil. The big deal is that Christians won't learn about any other religion other than theirs. It's probably due to fear. They're afraid that they won't be able to resist the "temptation" of following these other religions. Ultimately what that leads to is an ignorant state where people blindly follow the words of someone who claims to be a spiritual leader simply because they claim to be Christian.

Umm... I don't think that. Then again, I read more than those stupid Jack Chick tracts.

There are some similarities - such as an individualized approach and the general (if not total) rejection of supernatural entities. Both use the pentagram or some variant thereof, albeit for different reasons. Both accept, if not promote, the use of magical rituals to achieve personal goals. Both send Bible-thumping Christian fundamentalists into conniptions, which is a great service to humanity.

Still, I'd rather hang out with the average Wiccan than the average Satanist.

I do not know a lot about Satanism but Wicca is NOT the same thing. True wiccans do not believe in the devil. There is a God and a Goddess. No hell. Everything has good and evil in it. It is a balance. It is more about the earth and growing. Research it.

Why do people believe that if you are wiccan you worship the devil!!???

People only believe what they want to is mainly what it all boils down to. Wicca is a form of Paganism, and Christianity stems from this. I, too am Wiccan, and believe that we are only 'worshiping'(as I don't worship, but appreciate) God and the forgotten Goddess. Christians decided one day to drop us women out of the bible and/or put us in it as only prostitutes or some other low form. And no, I did not get this from the Da Vinci Code, I got this from facts. Google it, go to your nearest library, everything has pagan stemmed beliefs, believe it or not.

Oremus with this quote:

"Wiccan is sort of an ignorant form of Satanism. I have found that most of its followers are just very ignorant about religion in general. Many of them practice it because they think they are "cool" or it's "fun." But worshipping any God other than Our Lord is a form of Satanism. Many of its rituals also stem from Satanic rituals. It also uses much of the Satanic imagery like the 5 pointed star."

You show your TRUE and unimaginable ignorance. These are the kinda of statments that make people believe the two are one in the same. My fiancee, WHO HAS A MASTERS DEGREE IN RELIGIOUS HISTORY, is a practicing wiccan. The 5 POINTED STAR that you talk about is completely different for both religions. THE 5 POINTED STAR FOR PAGAN RELIGIONS HAS BEEN AROUND FOR THOUSANDS OF MORE YEARS THEN THE DEVIL YOU PERPETUATE IT TO COME FROM. IT WAS NOT ADOPTED BY THE CHURCH OF SATAN UNTIL ANTON LEVAY CAME ALONG. THE SAME AS THE SWASTICA WAS IN PAGAN RELIGION LONG BEFORE NAZI GERMANY ADOPTED IT. I FAIL TO UNDERSTAND WHY CHRISTIANS FORCE FEED HATE TO PEOPLE WHEN THEY HAVE NO CLUE OF WHAT THEIR HISTORY IS OR WHAT THE HISTORY OF ANY OTHER OF THIS WORLDS RELIGIONS ARE.

YOU SHOULD PROBABLY DO YOUR RESEARCH BEFORE YOU POST THINGS LIKE THIS.

Are you saying that even Pagans in pre bible days are in hell now because they didn't worship something they knew absolutely nothing about?

If you take your bible so literally you should go kill yourself some witches. Thou shall not suffer a witch to live....hello murder in early America.

Because people often associate things they don't understand with being wrong. And when it comes to beliefs, they believe that those who are different than them as far as religion goes are evil and going to hell. As such, some Christians associate Wicca (which they don't understand and is not Christianity) as going against got and therefore must be Satanic....I'm sure the witch hunts in Europe and early America probably play into it somewhat, too...

Our 5 pointed Star are our Beliefs and present the Elements !!! An it harm none do as thou will , is what we live after . We beliefe in Reincarnation and the 3 fold law( whatever you send out comes 3 times back..so you send bad things , bad things will come back......

They both are self-indulgent and focused on the self which is playing right into the hands of Satan. This is the opposite of Christianity in which we are called to be focused on God and self-denying for the sake of the Kingdom of Heaven and helping the poor without wanting to take any personal credit for it.

A long time ago, I used to study Wicca and satanic books (at first I thought I was reading about witchcraft) before I realized that they are fundamentally the same just in a different package. Around that time, I also had a vision of Hell in a dream and realized that I was going to end up there if I didn't change my life drastically. I did an about face, and started looking into Christianity.

After a lot of soul searching and study and observation of different kinds of Christianity, I decided to become Catholic. Now, I've been Catholic for over 12 years, and I am very happy being Catholic. I will die a Catholic when God calls me home one day.
