In Genesis 3:14 it says that God made the snake crawl on his belly because the snake lied to Adam and Eve.
After this "punishment" of taking away its legs, why is it that the snake has been so successful in adapting and thriving in this world. I guess God didn't know what he was doing and actually ended up doing the old snake a favor. He didn't slow the snake down at all!

The snakes did penance on Noah Ark and God forgave them. No other animal had to endure being next to 40 days and 40 nights worth of elephant poop.

For us to know if the snake did slow down, we would have to know how it was in the beginning, won't we?
With the adaptability of the snakes that we know of now, it just goes more to show what a wonderful creator God is :-)

For heaven sakes the "snake" in genesis is Satan. Its figurative. He also said he would be crushed under the Lords heel one day. The snake the reptile is feared by animals and man. God did know what he was doing its all there to read.

Satan wasn't literally a snake in the garden of Eden. It's figurative. Christ called our generation, "a wicked generation of vipers". Christ wasn't talking about snakes, either. God didn't curse snakes in Genesis 3:14, he cursed Satan. God calls Satan a "serpent" all throughout the Bible. Satan is not a big reptile, lol. Snakes are completely irrelevant to this. God loves his animal kingdom, he loves snakes. His anger is with human sin, and Satan's rebellion, not animals.
