Bose? BWHAHAHAHAH
Sony? BWHAHAHAHA!!!!
Samsung? BWHAAAASHHAAAAA
If you listen to most of these FOOLS here, then buy a Bose speaker system and a Sony reciever. Or buy a Samsung HTIB (you have to buy a Samsung HTIB because they don't make recievers or speakers, just HTIB) and you can join the mindless audio pukes above and have a LOUSY system.
But, if you really want a good system, do your research. Any respected magazine (or anyone who knows ANYTHING about audio) will not even mention Bose, Samsung, or Sony.
While Sony does have an SE series that is good, it is expensive.
B&W are considered by many to be the best speakers available. Boston Acoustics, Definitive Technologies, Paradigm, are all good names.
But as someone else mentioned, don't depend on the brand name. Do some research (outside of yahoo), go to an audio shop, listen to some stuff and make up your own mind.
As a last word, I would recommend a company that spends more on development and engineering than on advertising and marketing (aka Bose and Sony)

If you are going to spend some real money then Denon is one of the good brands, and so is Nakamichi. If you are going on the cheaper side then Bose is probably the best of the low end. But you should never buy sound systems because of the brand name. You have to listen to different ones and make a choice based on what you like and how much you want to spend. Go to A real audio place like Tweeter center or find a specialist store. Avoid Circuit city, Bust buy and places like that. Those guys know nothing.

i'm hoping the Bose posters have been kidding as a results of fact Bose sound is crap, incredibly whilst in comparison with what you have already. it somewhat is a great volume to spend on the receiver. on the minimum, look into the Harman Kardon AVR635, which has a room eq function it somewhat is excellent. Very musical and heat sound. you're able to additionally look on the Denon 2807 and 4306, which additionally comprise state-of-the-paintings equalization applications which will regulate the sound to greater healthful your room acoustics. At that budget you additionally can look into separates. investigate Outlaw Audio and the Emotiva manufacturers for separate pre-amp + amp combos which would be a great step up in high quality (and price)

BOSE....better sound through research.
If that's to much to spend, then try Boston.
Our computer speakers are Boston BA745's
(we think we need a bigger screen to match the sound!)
and our favorite is our Digital Theater 7000, used daily and we bought it back in 2002 and they still work new and the sub is a killer! Basically a 35lb crate with monster-sized cooling fins!

Bose just spends money on advertising for not something super expensive I would recomend a Pioneer Elite receiver and decent speakers such as JBL or Klipsch that wont break the bank and still provide good sound

bose is the best, but if you are short on cash you can buy a system for 80 to 120 bucks, that will work and sound great, they are about 100 to 200 watts and that is enough for me, check out walmarts bestbuy etc....
