if you believe it, don't you adopt it as a truth for yourself?

depends on if you ever find out, but the point is that lies build on each other, and if you make decisions based on a lie, then all subsequent events and decisions are based on that lie. so, pretty much everything stemming from the lie is a lie, and if the truth is ever discovered, it can be quite upsetting to discover that almost all of what you have experienced for a short period of time is false. i should probably answer the question though, IMHO it is still a lie even if you believe it. truth shouldn't have to be held in such high esteem, but unfortunately people in this day in age are looking for a quick fix and i suppose lies are good if you want immediate results as well as pain and heartache in the future

Well while it may be true to you that does not make it true to all. For something to be truth it has to have at least the majority of the population to be considered the truth. It also should have something to back it, like facts. Faith has not facts, so faith can only be true to the person, and can not be universal.

of course, if I believe it enough it cannot be a lie. been there a few times lately this week....what some dont know cannot hurt them i guess in my opinion

yes think of the poor kids that we lie too. they believe and it's a lie. especially holiday stuff.
