Age is irrelevant! You can even go over to Sri Lanka or any other West African place. Though they live in a society where they can lose their life for doing something improper, they realize an age difference in a relationship is irrelevant.

I'm smiling over your concern over your age differences of 16 and 18. (You're practically twins!) You were born in the same era, probably went to kindergarten in the same decade and were roughly the same age when 9-eleven occurred. You probably have a lot in common right there. Your parents are probably within twenty years of each other. That makes your life similar in many ways too.

But I say age is not the thing that matters most. My husband and I are both the middle of seven children...so we have a lot in common there. We both grew up in the mid-west and were expected to work from early on. We are both the same denomination of faith...which is a big plus. We both love our two springer spaniels, and they bring much joy to our relationship. We love the mountains as well as we love the river outside our front door. We like the same kind of movies, and love to read books (or info on the net.). Family is important to both of us, and we try to spend as much time as we can with each side. We have loving families that love us both. We have so much more in common.

We have been happily married for sixteen years. We are thirty years apart. We were married when I was 30, he was 60, and it was '90.

Don't give up the ship. If there is any substance to it...it will last...no matter what anyone else might think!

To answer your question: with your age difference of 16 and 18...this is perfectly alright!!

Hi I started dating my now husband when I was 16 and he was 19 (almost 20). Obviously it worked out for us because 9 years later we are still very happy.

Now as for advice:

It is statutory rape if you have intercourse before she is 16. So keep that in mind. After she is 16 and you want to start a sexual relationship make sure you are BOTH fully protected. It is best if you use a condom AND she is on the pill. That way there is very little chance of any unexpected surprises. Neither method is fail safe, that is why I suggest using both. You are both way too young to be having kids.

Also be aware that you will probably encounter resistance from her parents. I know I did with mine! If you procede with this relationship you will need to respect her parents - pay attention to their rules because if you break them you are screwed!

And being so young she will be impressionable. Try to make her stick at things like school and socialising with people her own age.

Do you want to be tied down to an underage partner? Bear in mind you are at the age where all your mates will start going to clubs and pubs. She won't be able to come with you. Is this going to suit your lifestyle? Most 16 year olds will get jealous if their bf is going clubbing especially if he is around other single guys.

Since she is only 15 now, this is not appropriate. It gives you the image of perv.
Plus, if her parents get mad they could turn you in and make you go to jail.
However, if she was 18 and you were 20 theres no prob with that. I know its not like youre 30 and shes 15 but still , if you want to be with her then wait a little at least until she does turn 18 or be discreet about it.

Why not?
If u have a pure purpose, be a GF is ok as long as not over the bottom line,
and also very important, whether u willing to bear the responsibility to take care of the girls in ur whole life.... is that i talk too serious already, maybe but pls keep it in mind...

I think the age difference is of no big concern. Let it go. However, if you are going off to college soon you should be concerned because you are gonna want to live it up and express your feelings and she may want to still hold on to you; and she may not understand that part of you that wants to be a college male.

If it's against the law to have intercourse, then I would be careful. Other then that, no I don't see anything wrong with anyone of any age difference dating.

I think it is okay to go out with someone younger than you.You
shouldn't be concerned if this girl is someone that you love and
care about.Just listen to your heart it will tell you the right thing to do.

I think that as long as both of the maturity levels are okay then its okay u just have to be more mature and secure about her still being in high school
