There is a controversey about milk now. Some people say all dairy is bad because it is too much fat to justify the calcium you get from it. I love cheese, but I tend to agree with this. If you want calcium there are healthier ways to get it. Plus 3/4 of people in the world are lactose intolerant, and it causes problems that way too. Water is self-explanatory. You need water. Your body is 80% water.

I would have to say that "Milk" is the "better" of the two. Our bodies are more than 70% water...but milk is "water with the nutients" added. Think about a "new-born" baby: The child is born...but the most liquid that the baby intakes is "milk" rather than water. The "milk" gives the baby the neccessary nutrient IN WATER as its' base. So "milk" IS "water" plus the nutrients that are neccessary for the childs' developement. The baby can live without pure water intake...and survive with only milk intake. But the child will DIE with ONLY a water intake. You can prove this to yourself, by taking a couple babies and conducting the test...if you don't worry about the murder charges that follow. (Just kidding here). Milk is the better of the two.

You need 6-8 glasses of water a day - helps keep you hydrated and washes toxins out of your system.
Until the age of 25, everyone needs lots of calcium & Vitamin D in their diet to build strong bones so they won't have Osteoporosis (http://www.nof.org/osteoporosis/index.htm) when they are elderly. It affects women the most, but men are not immune to it.
Vitamin D is manufactured in your body when you are in the sunshine - just 15 minutes a day will do the trick. It is also found in vitamin tablets and many calcium tablets are mixed with Vit D.
Calcium is found in Dairy products and green leafy vegetables. Yes, spinach and kale and collard greens, etc. Cows milk is not the best milk for humans. Goat's milk is much better. Try Nubian Goat's Milk. If you can't tolerate drinking milk, then go for cheese, yogurt, whole milk ice cream, use butter (sparingly) instead of margarine. Read the labels on products you buy.
It is very important that you build up the calcium stores in your bones while you are a teenager and young adult. I have seen patients in nursing homes and hospitals whose bones break when they just roll over in bed. Severe osteoporosis is very painful.
Note: Soda pop is just plain bad for you. It removes calcium from your body, destroys teeth (colas will dissolve your teeth) and contributes to weight gain - esp the diet sodas as your body feels cheated that there are no calories in the soda and it causes you to crave other foods.

You should have a glass of milk everyday, and try to have several glasses of water a day as well. Both liquids serve two different purposes.
