She has had them since birth but now that she is getting older, they are more noticable. I've tried everything, switching laundry detergent to desitin, etc. anyone have any ideas?? they are on the back of her arms, and they are there all the time, not just in the summer. thanks

This is actually fairly common. My little son has it too. Lots of sandpaper-like coarse bumps on his upper arms. Sometimes he gets them on his face/cheecks, and sometimes on his buttocks as well. But he never complains of them.

Next time you visit your doctor, as about "Keratosis
Pilaris".

It is linked mostly with Heredity. I had them as a kid, so it doesn't really surprise me that my son has them.

Anyway here are some really informative websites. Hope that helps.

Hi, I am a dermatologist by profession and within a careeer of 10 years I have seen lots of acne problems. According to me Red and white pimples are the worst and painful. Acneprone skin is very sensitive, even if you touch it once the redness will increase with itching. According to me there is no magical way to heal your pimples over night as this is the puffed part of your skin due to the bacteria. In simple words try to improve your diet and have lots of water that helps in healingg process. Un-necessary oily food should be avoided to get a healthy spotless skin.

A Doctor told me one time that the Soda (Coke) make those little pimples, I have no idea if is truth or not, but you better take your daughter to a Dermatologist before it can get worst

A Dr. once said they are from the mother hormones. At least
that's what the Dr. told my daughter about my granddaughter.
And if your still not convinced then speak to the baby's Dr. Don't
try to pop them yourself, your baby will grow out of them as she gets older.

I had the same thing, and was always told it was a vitamin deficiency. Later in life I heard it was hereditary. In either case, they cleared up for me at puberty. They just are what they are, let it go and hopefully she'll grow out of it too. Just try to help her not be self-concious about them.

I have those, i've had them since I was a kid. The only thing I have found that works is exfoliating them with a "buff puff". You can get them at the grocery store. They aren't pimples.
