I believe that it is in each person's history of reinforcement; what we have been conditioned to believe is good.
For instance, I do not take vacations, or holidays or days off. They do not make me happy.
I do not plan on retiring, ever. I really don't like golf and do not have the patience to hang out in God's waiting room in Florida; I have things I want to do and I am doing more of what I want and less of what I don't want. For me, that is happiness.
I also think that the pursuit of happiness is not the pursuit of instant gratification or ecstasy.
