im not trying to say that some athiests dont make offensive gestiors, but while people around still though i was a cristian (even if they where of a different religion) they would treat me with respect. now that they know that i am an atheist they almost treat it as an attack on their religion.

They're equal-opportunity bigots, but scan their questions for ones aimed at atheists:

I find it especially offensive when I am repeatedly told that I think that life is without meaning. The constant insistence that life without god cannot have any meaning irritates me to no end. I find it extra-troubling that the people who insist that I find life pointless are little more than a death-cult waiting for their dreadful lives on Earth to be a distant memory.

The thing that drives me nuts is when people insist you can't lead a moral life without believing in God. They take the moral high ground based on some Sunday school belief in God. Ignorance wrapped in superiority is infuriating.

Idk. Most of the people I know understand that I'm an atheist, and don't like me less for it. I get offended by stupid bulletins on myspace about god, and saying that if you don't repost this, you won't get into heaven. If I started posting anti-christian bulletins, I'd have so many people pissed at me. . .I guess I just don't see why people have to try to make other people believe what they believe. They believe that, and I believe what I believe, so what difference does it make?

It could have possibly been the question on here about Atheists eating dog...
and then calling us all sick bastards.
It was quite a random and offencive thing to say :S

I'm sick of the old canard "atheists deny god because they want to be able to get away with anything" or more simply, "atheists have no morals."

If that were true, the jails would be overflowing with atheists. Instead, they're full of believers, mostly Christians.

hey, i am not atheist, but i will say i know a married couple who are, and they lead a better Christian life then most Christians i know, so i dont have anything against them. Just dont not look for faith because you are annoyed by pushy people, do what you truly believe.

It is sad that the three Moses based religions only see religious persecution when someone challenges their irrational beliefs and not when they challenge our irrational beliefs.
Religious freedom should be more closely guarded and bigotry should be severely ostracized.

And atheists don't make random or offensive gestures to anyone else?

i am not an atheist but i do not approve of religions as i see them as man's law to control. tell me whats the use of living if you do not believe in something. there is always a catch when it comes to the believe system. something has to give. otherwise we should live with our brains in our ****.

Christians just think they are smarter then us. It's not something to get boiled over. Are how about that "smart" Atheists comment.
