God doesn't need time to exist; he was there and always was.

kyby4000, thank you for being among the first to answer in a mature way. I just don't see how there were particles when, well, there was nothing there yet.

The universe was created by a bunch of little particles coming together and forming things. You know, that thing they call the "big bang" theory?
As for "creation" It's more like evolution. We evolved from tiny organizms that were formed when the earth was friend created, by the big bang theory :)
Hate to burst your bubble, but you cant ask a question like this when there are pretty obvious answers floating around.
Not that I dont appreciate your "creation" theory, I just dont believe it.

If this is a question of intelligence then this is your answer... You don't have to know who created the universe to be smart. In fact, I have more respect for anyone who admits they don't know the answer and can accept that every theory (including religion) is a relevant possibility. No one can prove God yet, and as such no one can disprove God either, otherwise we wouldn't be having such "smart" discussions like this in the first place. ;)

If anybody regardless of their religion can state as a definitive undeniable truth that they know and can prove how the universe was created, then in my eyes they are the truly ignorant ones if their only source is from reading one book. If you think you know the answer to this, then fine say you THINK you know the answer, but don't say you know because there isn't a person on the planet that can lay claim to that, and if you could prove it you'd be an instant gadzillionaire and can probably figure out how to warp space and time to ask God the question yourself. ;)

Define your terms.
What is the Universe? A time space continuum(s) of finite or infinite size?
What reason do you have to believe it needed creation or will end?

I am Agnostic/Deist myself (ex atheist) but the differences are mostly semantics, whereas I would define God as the creator of the universe it really just begs the question who/what created God then?
The Answer to that question would clearly be MANKIND.

Classic Chicken and egg type question or a "Pair of Ducks" :-)

Could God make a universe the Pre-dates the existence of God?
Well if you believe in both science and the bible dates for the universe he did and we are in it.

I'm not Athiest however there are many beliefs how the Universe was created and how creationist started.

I will only mention one. The Big bang therory and as for where the idea of creation started it was a way to control the people.

If you want to give a question to "Smart Athiest" think out your question first. I would estamate at least 90% of all Athiests can answer that one.

It is kind of like trying to understand the concept of infinity, no beginning, no end. Are humans presently able to comprehend such a concept ? Ultimately it is a question that cannot be answered, at least not now.
However, to imply that there was sentient "God" that was responsible seems defeat the purpose of the question.
What created God ?

The Big Bang. What is wrong with this theory?
I definitely believe more in the Bang than in a selfish supernatural thing. At lease you can proof that the Universe is expanding or that gravity is a reality, but you can't proof that God exist.

There are many theories, but since I am not an atheist, and don't particularly believe the earth was created by God 6000 years ago, you will probably ignore my answer. But if you are interested here are a couple theories, and I do believe in God by the way.

You are an idiot. You don't even try to answer the question. Your answer to everything is "God". Who created God? I know who, four fisherman who wrote a book of fairy tales. Then the fairy tales have been passed on for generations eventually getting to weak, easily influenced people like yourself. Try looking at the facts, not fiction. Get cable and watch the Discovery Channel.

well as of now, it was from the big bang , if u ask, what wa there before that, we'll say there was nothing and matter was created from nothing, it can be done, based on some theories. but nothingness doesn't nothing was there, nothingness is still something as well !!
so u;ll say GOD created that nothingness or in fact he big bang...upto us humans......then just left us in this great world.....created misery, bad people ....

the answer is a question : who created god, - u'll say he is al powerful and can't be created , ut if there was nothing , how can he be created .

both u and i are in a question of what was there before GOD, the answer is there was something, it is just that we haven't yet found it / understood it. a majority of people attribute anything they can't comprehend to GOD, sadly . it's we atheists who probe into that question as what was there before him. ?

!!!
