Talk to another relative or a counselor at your school. A lot of parents don't take it seriously, because they really don't understand. They think teenagers are supposed to be miserable and moody, but you're NOT! If you're thinking about hurting yourself, call a crisis hotline in your town. I know it feels like this may never end, but I PROMISE you - you will feel better. Soon, you'll be out on your own and free to make your own decisions and control your own life. And that feels really GREAT!

Hey,
I suffer depression and trust me the best way not to get your parents attention is to stay quiet, the way my parents figured it out was my mum suffered from postnatal depression and could see the signs in me, she didn't say anything though, i kept getting really down and really down and then i ended up screaming at my parents that i though i was suffering depression. If that doesn't work then start going to a coucilor and then when your parents get the bill you can explain to them that even though you have tried to tell them they are just thick and havn't listend. And ignore the guy who said cut yourself, trust me you really don't want to go down that path, take it from someone who unfortuently knows from exxperience.

I hope it all goes well,

You could try saying to your parents something along the line of... "Hey Parents! I have something to say and it is really important!" Then have them sit down. Tell them whatever you need to tell them. Or you could find someone else that you trust and try telling them. It could be anyone... a friend a teacher, whatever.... just anyone that you trust. Good luck bud!

Tell them how you are feeling. Make them listen. If they still will not listen find someone, a friend, a teacher, another relative, a preacher or someone who will listen to you. You do not have to be alone.

I used to go jogging with my dog and to church (without dog).

The jogging cleared my head and God helped heal my heart.

God bless you I hope you feel better soon.
