god never said he needs a church. i am a christian, but i understand that organized religion has many downfalls, and a "church" is an organized business that is exempt from taxes. I'm not saying church is bad, it does good for people who need a sense of community, but many Churches are just businesses.

You are right my friend God really does not need any of these and there is no such thing as a holy man of the sort, however, who so ever work according to the commandments given by the God is wrongly given the status of a holy man rather than a humanitarian. Because it is humanity that God wants to promote more than rituals.

The church was originally a place to go for worship. Man has created religion and "the church" God only needs people to believe in Him and carry his message of love and forgiveness. Man has messed this up somewhere along the way and found a way to profit from it.

I often think the same question! God is all around us, there is no escaping the presence. Form the air we breathe the planets we gaze at night, even to the interstellar masses so minute that physicists can only theorize about. You are probably right, if Jesus was to exist today, would he take kindly to the worship that persists in all "churches of God"? I can't imagine so!

the whole church thing, honestly, the only reason anyone needs it is for the people who like people. they like to know and trust that everyone else is doing what they think is right, and have trouble doing so, unless they surround themselves with people that are doing the same thing, living the same life.
and holy men? well, you can argue that people who really need god can find him on their own, but the other argument is sometimes people need to be shown. I think that’s just ridiculous. forcing people to believe in something, who knows what their life could or couldn’t have been with or without god? why do people who call themselves gods disciples today seem to force opinions, more than offer them?
I’ve only met one person who I consider to be a true Christian. I was a cashier several years ago, at a run down locally owned supermarket, and a woman started talking to me about how the Christmas season was coming up, and how much she loved the time of year. I told her I was looking forward to it as well, but I had absolutely no way to get any extra money for my little niece this Christmas, and I felt bad for her, I told her I didn’t care if I got anything that year, but I’d give anything to see a smile on her face this Christmas. she gleamed, as though she understood, and I gave her receipt, and thought nothing else about it, as I was a little busy that evening, and wanted to get my line down. about an hour later, I found myself without a customer, and I don’t think anyone was in the store at the time. I see the door open, and in walks the same lady with a big smile on her face, and a hundred dollar bill in her hand. she walked over, and told me how badly she wanted my niece to be as happy as she should be. she told me that god spoke to her, and told her she should help me. she tried to give me the hundred dollar bill, and I told her no. she insisted, and I took it, because I could see how sincere she was about everything. I never saw the woman again, and she never said anything about me needing to do something else in return, for her, for anyone.
I HAVENT EVER SEEN ANOTHER CHRISTIAN (or religious person) DEMONSTRATE THIS LOVE FOR ANOTHER PERSON, WITH SUCH A PURE HEART! HER MESSAGE, EVEN THOUGH IT HARDLY HAD GOD IN IT, SCREAMED MORE OF GOD AND GODS LOVE MORE THAN ANY OTHER MESSAGE I HAVE EVER HEARD. and I have sat through many, many sermons. i've since stoped going, because i feel its more what my mom wants for me, than what i want for myself.

Because Man is evil. I mean, not all men are evil, but we are naturally evil, I believe. Think about it: why do you have to teach children not to lie, or not to steal? Because we were born evil, and God knows that.
However, to prevent the complete spread of evil, He uses the Church and people who try not to sin to spread all His Glory, which is what He deserves for creating us first and foremost.

I think more than one person is going to say ''I don't know,'' This is a pretty tough question.
+My view is that God certainly does not need those things. He wanted to let us be that way
+He wanted us to need to build a Church to worship and communicate with Him.
+He wanted us to need holy men to teach His Rule.
+That is the way He wanted it to be and
that is the way He will let it be.
Good luck with the rest of your Answers!

If there was a God, he wouldn't need any of that.
Humans need that.
They need those things because they think it either takes them closer to God or proves that he exists. They need to do those two things because they can't deal with a world without God. Meh. ;/

whos god you talking about?
God needs church and holy men because, if god were to speak to us directly, we'd all freak out and chaos will prevail.

I don't think God "needs" any of those things..........I think man invented those things to be closer to him, and then there were disputes as to how "exactly" was the "correct" way to worship......My belief is this........God is all forgiving and we were put here to make mistakes and learn from them........That's all........Take care
