Early mornings at home until 9 am I keep scaring myself into a panic attack for silly reasons such as (a) there is an earthquake today because the bucket of water is shaking, (b) a noisy aeroplane passing above my house makes me believe it is falling down on me, (c) the loud noise of flush tank makes me believe it is floods all over.. Help me..please...

look I had the same problem still do at times. But what I learned is. that when you feel it coming (and you know when its coming) you sit in a calming place and breathe nice and slow. I close my eyes and think about something someone someplace that calms me. If it disables you I would suggest first you go in for some professional help. Good luck hon.

I will now go for the next stage DUAL CARRIAGE way, probably at the weekend, with my husband accompanying me first then the solo drive, if successful the final stage of driving on motorway

You have an anxiety problem. Did you or someone close to you encounter a tragedy or catastrophe recently? That could be your trigger. You need to seek counselling. Get to the root of the problem. Try meditation or herbal tea to help you to relax. Although I would not encourage medication, but you might want to see a doctor if you are still unable to free your mind from all those irrational thoughts.

I used to have the same problem only a little different. I was scared of the bogyman, I know it's very sad. Anyways my job requires that I wake up and go to work at 3 a.m. everyday!!!! Trust me after a few months I was praying something would get me so I could call in sick and go back to bed.

take it from this perspective
there is nothing you can do about earthquakes, falling planes and flash floods, all can kill you and one day may kill you, or you may get lucky and die of old age.. either way it's something you put in the background and live life normally if not to the fullest, rather than being a victim you to your indulged fears

Just calm down, take deep breaths and relax. Maybe go get some anti-anxiety meds from a shrink.

As a last resort maybe try marijuana it will make you relax and not worry about everything. But use it in comfortable surroundings don't smoke it if your going to do it get hash and make brownies. Marijuana will cause short term memory loss but will have no permanent damage on your brain or any other bodily system.

Your fears are not rational and it's probably a good idea to see a therapist.
