It depends on the situation but in the rare scenario that both of them were to have the same disease and it progressed at a equal rate a transplant comity would give the kidney to the 20 year old and i would have to agree unless the 20 year old had some problem like being a drug addict or a alcoholic.

There would be so many factors involved to make this decision, such as physical condition of each patient and out look for the one getting the transplant, match ups, that is something no one can really answer except experts that are dealing with the case at hand.

not necessarily. if you are saying that the 20 year old's life is more valuable than the 50 year old because they are younger, I would say, NO. I believe the condition of the patient should be what is important, plus the compatibility of the organ.

transplants it comes down to who is next in line for the kidney when it is available, who is the one that matches the donor? Isn't that how it is decided? If we are talking about "what if" I think it would be who ever is next in line. We can't choose who is better to receive it only by age there are many more factors involved.

Really were all important!! So ether one would be the one to get it, cause age doesn't matter unless the person is a 80-90 year old who doesn't have that long anyways, and surgery might end up killing them ..
So no,,, whoever was on list first should be the one to get it.... 50 year olds matter too

I think it comes down to who is higher on the list and the donor kidney is most compatible with.

well, try to put your self in their position, i bet they also have a life ahead of them, u don't know the reasons why he wants to live, for example what if that person has a son/daughter that is in disability and they can't take care of themselves. its just a matter of waiting for your turn of an implant.
