This is not denominational or faith specific. All feel free to answer. Why can't you see the value in the prophecy of others?

Poor wording on my secondary question...Why can't you see the value of other teachings? I think that is better stated.

Zizou, I didn't say it was a "kids game", and I really wish it was. Kids could solve this without all of the war and killing and such.

As for being more specific, that is all but impossible, I have no prophets, I am agnostic.

Damn you, post modernist, damn you.
Because religious beliefs go hand in hand with essentialism. Acknowledging the value of other faiths would be to repudiate the sanctity of your own - or to embark upon an inexorable line of epistemological inquiry that ultimately ends in nowhere. Hence, I guess, where nihilists are coming from.

I believe only the words of the prophets anointed by the Holy Spirit and sent by the living God to His people. I have no desire to clutter my mind with the words of prophets and gods I believe are false, nor do I value any teaching that steers a human soul away from being reconciled to the heavenly Father through Jesus. The Christian bible holds believers accountable for testing the prophets to see if the Lord really sent them, and to keep themselves free from error. We are to guard our salvation.
However, I respect the decision of every person to believe what they wish.

I don't think all 'prophets' are false. I tend to believe there is a supreme being that has many different names; God, Budda, Alah, etc. Just because I call Him God, that doesn't mean that is right. I won't know what His true title or name is until I go up and meet Him and I am quite sure that, once there, I won't care one bit. Good question!!

You must realize that people who are religious and think all other religions are crap need there religion to feel important. A persons religion tells him right from wrong, and what he should strive to do in life. However, when people says their religion is the right one, their entire system of beliefs is endangered, so they therefore (somewhat out of fear), slam any other religion other then theirs as blasphemy. that's why.

You did not specify which prophet you are referring to and you too did not clarify who is referred as 'yours'. Anyway,in general I do not have idea if what doctrine you know so you need to be more specific in your question.

This is not a little kid's game of who's better than who, or who can best who. This is the real thing. Read the bible you will see why. This may sound cliche*d but seriously, : it is written.

Well I don't have any prophets, so at least I'm not a hypocrite.
There is no god and all prophets are false.
