Kick them out. Teachers should be respected.

They should be punished, or even expelled, depending on the circumstances. Age does not matter in this instance. It's all in the credentials, I mean the teacher went to school to earn them, and deserves a certain am out of respect for doing so. I have had professors younger than I, but I always respected the credentials they've earned. And that could end up costing you big money. Considering, you have to pay for college courses. They are not free, for that matter neither are High School courses, ever hear of taxes? -Beckerm3@yahoo.com

Students shouldn't cuss out a teacher of any age regardless of how they feel about them. That is just disrespectful. The teacher should handle the situation and if they can't then the principal should be brought in. Being expelled might be an option depending upon how frequently it takes place and the kind of language that was used.

It sounds like you got off to a bad start with students. Before you start the new school year soon, don't let students get away with anything. You have to consciously commit yourself to enforcing certain basic rules of conduct, even if it takes away from instruction.
Devise a series of consequences for every improper action and follow your plan meticulously. Example: 1st profanity, warning; 2nd profanity, phone call to parent; 3rd incident, parent conference; and so forth.
