Natural instinct to make babies.
Humans and dolphins are the only species that have sex for pleasure.

Humping has a role completely outside of sex. It is a means of asserting dominance. Dogs will hump each other to show who is boss.

This is a dominance issue, your dog is basically saying that she is alpha and you are simply one of her followers. Do not allow her to do this to you. Get her off and give her a very stern no whenever she does this to you, and make sure she is focusing on you when you tell her no. Telling her no while she runs around the room won't do anything.

Dogs hump to show dominance. It has nothing to do with sex.

'Puppyfeet' is right. If anyone of us in the family were wrestling on the floor with each other, or with our little Beagle, she would try to do that once in awhile.
She was just trying to raise her status within our family "pack".
