It's for people who like the taste of beer but can't have or don't want alcohol. Personally, I'd never drink it, but to each his/her own.

They marketed it as an alternative to alcohol...so that people who wanted to go out with friends could order n/a beer and not feel left out if they didn't want to drink but didn't want anyone to know...or if you just really enjoyed the taste of cheap yellow beer but didn't want the alcohol, you could get this stuff.
I don't know...I think that there is a chance that the underlying reason is that anyone can buy n/a beer, so people under 21 would buy it thinking that they were all cool, then get used to the taste of fizzy, weak, pale yellow beer and when they hit 21 they would be already indoctrinated to Budweiser, Coors and Miller.
Just a thought...in reality, I don't really understand the point to it and those are just my speculations.
cheers!

Personally for me there's no point of non-alcoholic beer or normal beer. Firstly beer tastes like piss or water with or without alcohol, and beer is more for the lower class society. Drink scotch or wine they're much better in flavor and it shows your not of the common people.

People drink it for the taste without the buzz. Could never understand why people like beer, but to each his own as long as no one gets hurt. I prefer root beer and ginger beer.

So that you can shark the other guy playing pool at the bar. Seriously, I guess its for ppl that just don't like alcohol,or its ill affects. I drank some N/A at a friends wedding, and it tasted fine.As a social experiment I drank(more like chugged) a 6-pack of N/A and nuthin'. Now that's a strange feeling.

Some people actually LIKE the taste of beer *shudders* Go figure. It does seem rather pointless. Myself-I opt for the root beer...I can't stand alcohol.

i have to disagree with you. i love the taste of a good beer but don't like the effects of alcohol. American beers (and non-alcoholic beers) are pretty much water and taste like it, so I drink St. Pauli Girl non alcoholic beer--it tastes like beer should taste.

An alcoholic or near alcoholic who loves beer might disagree with the comparison to coke. :-)
