I've been a pescetarian (I eat seafood) for almost 4 years and I love it. After a month or so I didn't even want to eat regular meat anymore. I haven't gotten sick at all since becoming a vegetarian, either. :)

I get protein from eggs and dairy products. Protein really isn't that hard to get, in fact most people eat way too much protein

Try it out for a bit and see if you like it.

It means that you don't eat meat but a modified vegetarian usually eats some seafood. If you won't be eating it with some sort of animal protein (cheese, meat, seafood, chicken, other dairy, eggs) you can get a complete protein with beans and rice. Look it up silly! Do a search on "vegetarian lifestyle".

It doesn't have to be an all-or-none kind of diet. Some vegetarians don't eat any animal products at all (vegans), some vegetarians will eat animal products that don't involve killing animals (i.e., eggs and dairy products), and some "vegetarians" eat eggs, dairy products, and fish.

If you don't want to eat any meat you can get your protein from nuts, legumes (e.g., pinto beans, black beans), and soy products.

I know several people who are vegetarians - some are strict vegans and some aren't. They all seem to be healthy and have no problem sticking to their diet.

Good luck!

p.s. If you do decide to avoid all meat, be sure to eat things that are higher in iron. Here's a table that lists the iron content of certain foods: http://www.vrg.org/nutrition/iron.htm#table1

One other thing, I thought this website might be helpful. It's a vegetarian resource site: http://www.vrg.org/index.htm

It is hard to be a vegetarian because our society is focused so much on meat. But is it certainly possible and enjoyable.

Why do you want to be a vegetarian?

There are plenty of good ways to become one and get good nutrition. Just be sure that you get enough protein. Search the internet for good food ideas.

oh yeah, you definitely should. I've been a vegetarian for over a year now and it's great. it's not that hard either. i still eat sushi sometimes, i hope that's not cheating. but that's one good way for protein and more ways are milk and such.

Sometimes it's fun to do other things with the bananas and carrots.
