My whole life, I have wanted to believe there was a God. But I can't honestly say I have found 1 reason to believe such a thing exists. My whole family believes and it's been no fun feeling left out. Sure I said I believed, but didn't, and pretended to do so for most of my life. Why can't I believe, when I've had every chance to do so?

I am an Atheist, and have read everything I can get my hands on. Religions and Gods have no value in my life. Whatever works for you is great, but I have to be honest with mysel,f and for me, that is Atheism.

Can we find an explanation of the great universe? Is there any convincing interpretation of the secret of existence? We realize that no family can function properly without a responsible head, that no city can prosperously exist without sound administration, and that no state can survive without a leader of some kind. We also realize that nothing comes into being on its own. Moreover, we observe that the universe exists and functions in the most orderly manner, and that it has survived for hundreds of thousands of years. Can we, then, say that all this is accidental and haphazard? Can we attribute the existence of man and the whole world to mere chance.

In the world then there must be a Great Force in action to keep everything in order. In the beautiful nature there must be a Great Creator who creates the most charming pieces of art and produces everything for a special purpose in life. The deeply enlightened people recognize this creator and call him Allah 'God'. He is not human because no human can create or make another human. He is not an animal nor is He a plant. He is neither an idol nor is He a statue of any kind because none of these things can make itself or create anything else. He is different from all of these things, because He is the maker and keeper of them all. The maker of anything must be different from and greater than the things which he makes.

Imagine yourself in an aeroplane and you know it is
going to crash...

Who do you turn to for help then ?

Or on a ship in the sea, thrown helplessly up and down
by towering waves ...

There will have been a situation at one time or the
other in your life when you called upon your Creator
alone, forgetting everyone and everything else,
hoping, trusting, wishing that the Being you know in
your heart and soul that has power and control over all
things would help you. The only One you know can
save you!

Sometimes religion just has to click.

* for me all's I have to do is pretend the evolutionists are right...
Let my mind go back to the big bang, watch it happen a few times, Then go into the eternity before, where there was nothing, and no one. Stare into the blackness of space both ways, no stars no nothing might as well be blind. Nothing is here, Here doesnt even exist. Welcome to the universe without God. No energy, no nothing. True emptyness.

I dont know what religion your considering joining, and maybe you dont even want to join one, but search your heart, I believe you will (Like me) find the warmth that exists when you realise, for a God with unimmaginable power created this universe, and since it seems so well designed to support us, he seems truely care what happens to us.

After that, its just picking the name to call Him. Which really is basicly the major difference between many religions.

the need to believe in a supreme being was a way for primitive man to explain things and events which were betond his comprehension.later, religion became a means for controlling the behavior and thouhjts of increasing population. today it is a little bit of both as well as a way to justify irrational or otherwise socially unacceptable actions. it also can act as a sort of pyramid scam for accumulating vast wealth {cotholocism}.dont feel bad, you are just more evolved and dont need the nonsense.

You shouldn't pretend. You should believe what you feel is right. I don't really belong to any religion myself. I have a few simple beliefs and behavioral guidelines. Believing in God gives me peace of mind, but you need to find what gives YOU peace. If you are a life lover than just live don't obsess over this to much and don't do something just to please others.

We live in a free country ( at least I think so) and you can believe in what you. If you believe that God doesn't exist there's nothing wrong with that. Free will.
You are not along on this world. Remember that believe and not believe are basically the same thing.

Why believe lies. Do you want to be ignorant or brainwashed.
Have a look in the Wikipedia article on IQ and religion. It basically says that all research has indicated the faithful are more stupid then atheists and agnostics.

Maybe because there is a "spiritual veil" hiding the spiritual truth from you. Sincerely ask God to take this veil away, ask Jesus Christ to come into your heart, then read the Bible for further instructions for spiritual maintenance and growth.

Maybe that particular religion didn't seem right. Explore other religions out there to see if anything makes sense (it never hurts to learn more about other beliefs). Good luck if you decide to make the quest.

believing in god is purely personal. u r sincere in accepting that u are not able to believe in god in spite of trying. please don't go against your conscience. be true to yourself. you don't have to do anything against your will just because others r doing it including belief in god.please don't pretend. wait for the day when it comes from within you. if u r good hearted, kind , peace loving & honest to yourself that is more than believing in god. god is there in all good things.u don't have to satisfy him. u don't HAVE to believe in god. believe in hamanity.u r better than so many people who say they believe in god & do all wrong in the name of HIM. so, stop worrying & be yourself. yes, i am a believer . but i believe in humanity also. i try to find god there.
