I asked on this site for people to pray for me, and the site has removed my prayer requests and taken away my points, even though many people responded to me and said they would pray for me. Are we not allowed to ask for prayer on this site?????

As long as those people are praying for you let them take the points.

I don't know why. And personally I don't think you should have. I've seen many questions posted here for requests for prayer and they weren't removed. The only thing I can think of is if it were what you were asking to be prayed for. If the prayer was something hateful or offensive such as "Pray that all black people will die" or "Pray that my Gay brother will get AIDS" then that would be the reason. Other than that you shouldn't get removed. The other possibility is if it was profane or of a sexually explicit nature. I don't know what your request was, but I read some of your other questions and I think it had something to do with your husband and Porn. Don't know how you worded it, but when you get onto that subject you have a great potential to offend people. Especially in this section.

I imagine someone filed an abuse because it could be viewed as a personal correspondence or chatting (which is against the rules). It also might have been taken down because it is a request and not a question.

You will be better served looking for a Yahoo Group for prayers and will likely get more sympathetic individuals as well.

To me this site is intended for people to find answers to real questions where you need help to find solutions not ask prayers for yourself, I don't know if I'm making sense, am I?

Asking for prayers is not really a question. But I don't know why un-God-loving people always complain about people expressing their love for GOD.
They want to take God out of the Pledge of Allegiance. They want to take God out of everything.

I really do not know if you can ask, and besides they now will take away 10 points for abuse, instead of the 2 points

They will give you a reason when they send you a violation notice. My guess is that it was deleted for chatting which is not allowed according to the Yahoo! Answers community guidelines.

Should be allowed to! I will pray for you.

It was probably moved because it isn't really a question; and not an attack on your religious beliefs.
