Yes and no. Dachshunds are bright, but they can be stubborn. Read this great book on tricks - but no fancy flips or jumping that could hurt a Doxie's back! I know you can get it on Amazon.com

With patients and being consistent any dog is easy to train weather it's tricks or obedience. What tricks were you going to teach? Also, have you thought about clicker training. I taught my Rottie "target" in 15 minutes with clicker training. You click then treat, but before you begin, you want to get your dog his favorite treat and the very first time you will click and treat about 15 times or so without asking him to do even one trick. I love it and so do my fur babies. Good luck.

yes, very! dachshunds are very intelligent..they catch on quickly...if given the right motivation..such as a favorite treat. mine likes green beans. HA HA i know, but it works.

most dogs are easy to train, just be consistent and kind. If your good to them, then they will be good to you.

Yeah I have a doxie mix and he is very smart. sometimes a little to smart.
