not really.

actually, there are both ok.

what is RARELY bad about soda is that it is pressurized with a lot of CO2 to make the drink more acidic (H20 + CO2 -----> H+ + HCO3-) and create the effervesce (bubbling) effect, which is more pleasurable and fun to drink. so, when you are drinking it, all the CO2 come out and rarely react with your teeth (teeth is mostly composed of Ca) to form CaCO3. BUT this reaction ONLY occurs in very high temperature of H2O (like around 95 to 115 [note this is pressurized to get that high] degree Celsius, which is beyond boiling point).

i know this sound like gbrsh. in other words, keeping the sodas cool (which is most of the time, unless you are doing a chem lab... lol) is not going to react or harm your teeth. as for the other substances, like sugar (C6H12O6 and C12H22O11), DOES NOT react with teeth directly. so no harm. as for the later comments about the acid content, i am not sure. But, it is definitely no very acidic, about only pH 5, which is not even close to lemon or vinegar which are pH 2 and pH 3 (note: pH 2 is 1000 times more acidic than pH 5), repectively. since people eat lemon and/or vingar and have no problem, I infer that acid in pepsi is not a very big deal. but you can always drink with a straw to avoid the drink.

i drink all the time. it is fine. but you better check with real doctors, since there might be things i am not thinking of....

Some dentists - like mine, recently, - said it is worse. That the acids in diet pepsi wear enamel off the teeth even faster than the acids in regular Pepsi, Coke, soda

Supposedly. It's the acidic content that eats enamel away. Drink it with a straw. Then it doesn't touch the teeth. Or you can stop worrying about it. I drank that stuff for years, like about a case and a couple of two litres a day, and I still have my uppers. Just kidding I have plates. Kidding!! Really I still have all my own teeth. Havent had cavities for about four years either... maybe pepsi is good for something.

Not as harmful. But still one needs to be careful. Read the above article. Stay away from sugary soft drinks. The safest by far it seems is diet root beer. Less acidic. The worse is Moutain Dew by far and next in line all clear soda's like 7'up or Sprite due to the citrus acid. Dark cola's are not as acidic as clear drinks but the sugar sticks to the teeth.

Rinse with water immediately following drinking the soda, use a straw if possible and be careful as an oral surgeon told me that he daily pulls entire sets of teeth of beautiful young people just because of drinking soda pop.

I have had a doctor and several professors tell me that diet sodas are actually worse than regular sodas because a regular soda is a more pure form of the soda. Diet sodas, in general, apparently go through nasty processes to strip them of the sugars and all and then to replace them with artificial sugars and such.

in diet beverages, sugar is replaced with aspartame. a pepsi is very acidic and will dissolve ur enamel, if its diet or not. If its not diet, the sugar will feed the bacteria in ur mouth, and the will make acid, and acid will dig a cavity. If its diet, u get less sugar, then u get less food for bacteria.
So true, diet is better then regular for ur tooth.

Id say no, I'm not a professional, but from a common sense point of view, I would say that regular has the sugar and everyone know that sugar is bad for teeth.

dont drink any soda

The amount of chemicals and additives in soda make it a very unwise choice, Reverse omosis, or distilled water is the best sorce of luquids

here is an example of deit soda using the aspartme

aspartme is comprized of phenylalanine(amino acid) and aspartic acid(amino acid), joined together by methyl alcohol(powerful toxin)

the methyl alcohol is converted to formaldehyde and formic acid in the body, both are potent toxins. formic acid is the posoin used by fire ants that cuase intense pain. formaldehyde is used in perseving corpses as an embalming fluid. it is also a known carcinogen (causes cancer)

there is sugar in ALL soda...diet or not. Its just the level of sugar within the soda that determines if it is "diet" or not. Just F.Y.I.

No, because diet means no sugar.
