I have met a couple people who are Gays and call themselves Muslims, they even pray regularly, but they keep their sexuality secret from other Muslims. I was wondering is it possible to be Gay AND Muslim?

Scientifically speaking, being gay is not a choice. Its not a trend you just happened to pick up. Gay people know they are gay and there is nothing wrong with that. In Islam, gay people are frowned upon and by many mosques, they would not be recognized as Muslims. Being gay is not a choice, being Muslim is. I think organized religion is bad and causes people to hide who they really are. Sexuality should not be a merit for religion but it is.

I f you accept Islam (or any tenet), understanding that certin things are forbidden, yet you continue to do them, then it would stand to reason that you do not adhere to the beliefs and by your own admission you accept that you are not one who believes.
As far as homosexuality, I've often wondered what'ds the difference between that and being an alcoholic, a gambler or drug addict?
If you profess a religious belief and you know you have this problem, I'd like to think you came seeking RELIEF from that problem,i.e., REPENTANCE.
In that case, I can see if you fall while trying to straighten out what YOU perceive to be a problem.
However, if you joined a faith, knowing the rules yet you try to inject your own "stylings", it's a recipe for disaster and misery, and I don't know why you joined in the 1st place!

Most poor Muslims can't afford wives. They are all taken by the rich. So they dream about women and have sex with other men. That is one of the reasons the Qu'ran promises pearl eyed boys to martyrs

HELL NO! they're strict things against that in our religion... ur rite in sayin that they "call" themseleves muslims because they really aren't muslims. Also, if there was some proof in the quran that gayness(sorry to use that term) is allowed, y would they hide it??? ppl only hide the things that are wrong. Who wants to hide the fact that they're rite????

Salam. i'm no longer God so i don't understand each and every little ingredient yet God cares better about the coolest of the middle than who you sleep with. it is my opinion, many Muslims ought to disagree yet God is forgiving and maximum merciful. believe me, many Muslims say that i'm a sinner because i'm getting a sex change, yet all of us have our individual relationship with God and that i'm doing what i think is ideal.

you see, homosexuality is forbidden and it's something so horrible that it shakes god's throne.
you cant be a Muslim if you are homosexual no matter what you do! pray or whatever. you are still committing a huge sin. but if you stop and repent and pray for forgiveness god will sure forgive you as God is the most merciful.
tell your friends to STOP and REPENT god doesn't like hypocrites.

there are alot of bigots answering this question, all walks of life and all religions will have gays,as this IS NOT A CHOICE,so some poeple have to give up their religion because they cant give up being gay, but whatever people say there will always be those
who think that being gay is a choice, i am not gay.
