rarely, unless they really need. they clean themselves and need the natural oils from their skin that is depleted with bathing too often.

Save yourself the pain and take it to a professional.

Oops. Didn't see the "often" part. Longhair cats greatly benefit from a bath and brushing at least once a season. I wouldn't bother bathing a shorthair cat until she gets too old to clean herself.

Whenever I get a new kittie, I immediately bathe him when I get him home to get him use to water and my handling him. After that he's good to go. My cats are inside cats and all the cleaning they do for themselves is puuuuurfect. LOL Sorry couldn't resist. If your cat has fleas, don't bother with any over the counter product except for Zodiac. I've used tons of products and this is the one and only prodcut that works that is over the counter.

I wouldn't bathe a cat because the vet said that the over the counter products have killed and made many cats sick and they get very upset at the question about it even I noticed. They get so upset when in water that it even causes some of them to have diarhea for days from the fear of it. It is very traumatic for some.

As often as they let you!!! My mom has had my cat Paws for 10 years, and seriously, he's only let us bathe him like maybe 3 times. For the past 5 years or so, the vet has had to sedate him to bathe him!

The only time I ever bathed my cats were when they were kittens r had a flea problem. Otherwise, I just brushed them regularly and let them bathe themselves

It will be good to clean their ears and cut their claws at least once a month. At the same time, you can give them bath if you
like, although cats clean themselves regularly.

But you need to groom them at least once a week for a SH and daily for a LH cats.

You don't need to unless you cat fell in the mud or something similar: The saliva of a cat is antiseptic and they clean themselves this way: Besides they don't like water at all. If your cat is treated regularly for flees and gets its annual shots for rabies and feline leucopenia, don't bother: Your cat will look after itself and stay clean.

My cat got sprayed by a skunk. I heard that tomato juice stopped the smell. Well, old wives tail or urban legend, the tomato juice seemed to work. I then washed off the tomato juice with shampoo and water, not to hot. Poor kitty, she seemed to understand I was trying to help her.
