AdiSankaracarya says ther is notthing other than the self. How would the self subjected to dif,ferent verieties of births .,like human, animal, tree and rock according to their karma? How can the acts of the animals.plants and rocks could be calculated and destined for their next birth?

Enlightenment cannot be found through gurus and teachers....and if they were truly enlightened they would know this! Stop looking for answers from Adi Sankaracarya and Yahoo...and turn within and ask God directly (who is already one with you) instead. Gurus are a distraction from going within. In your heart you already know all the answers...go there and find out for yourself!

It depends on what you think the self is. Are you thinking of the true self, or the ego self. One is real, the other is only a dream you are having. The individual self is only a misconception of what you are. It is not your truth.
