Chihuahuas are very hyper and hard to train. Not as cute when he's being bad as Paris Hilton's dog, is he? If he isn't housebroken, you'll have to use a crate and supervise him ON A LEASH any time he's not in the crate. Never let him on the bed or the couch - that makes him think that HE'S the boss!

You have to take him for very long walks twice a day - at least thirty minutes each. That will calm him down a LOT. Then when he's a little more tired, you can get his attention and train him.

Read some great books on training. (Try not to pick books randomly - there are a lot of bad books out there also!) These are some of my favorites and you can get them on Amazon.com

May be your giving your dog pressure. Give your dog some confidence. So your dog won't be nervous. And if you want to train your dog you go to PetSmart they have doggie dy camp there. Or Take him to the vet. He might have a brain dysfunction (i am not kidding) or there may be another problem - he could be hard of hearing, have vision problems. If the vet gives a clean bill of health then have them recommend a good dog trainer.Ok, here's what you need to do.And, First off, your dog is not stupid. No dog is. First what he needs is to go for a walk. Yes, a walk. Every dog needs to walk no matter what size. Dogs are pack animals. When they run in the wild in a pack, what are they doing, walking/running. This is the way they use up their energy. Not chasing their tails or a ball. No, you must take him for a 20 minute walk. Trust me this is going to help alot. Also, before you feed him, take him for a 10 minute walk or so, this way he is working for his food. Again, if he were in the wild he would have to walk to find his food. He will love you tons for it. This also gives you one on one time with him.

Puppies generally have tons of energy. He may need to be exercised more. If your dog is actually just nervous, you can try herbal remedies (they come in a small bottle with an eye dropper dispenser). You can buy them at most pet shops. They'll probably contain "kava kava" and/or "St. John's Wort". The solution is usually mixed in the dog's drinking water.
As for the training, keep him on a leash all day long. Then you can control him better. Don't tie him down without supervison, he may get tangled or choke.

Your lucky it's just your dog, my daughter is the same way, lol. No really I think it's probably in the animals disposition and the type of dog he is. The smaller dogs seem to be a more nervous personality.
