Why spend the money on champagne glasses? You can easily have a toast without it. Just ask the Best Man to ask everyone to raise their glasses!! They can be anything!!
If you are set on a champagne toast, then nothing but champagne will do. Are you serving liquor, beer, wine at the reception? If yes, then the correct thing to do is pour the champagne and you and your groom drink pop out of yours!! You DO need to consider what your guests would enjoy.

From Celebrate Intimate Weddings.com
#45. Imbibe in moderation. Sober receptions are becoming more common, reception staffs and caterers are great resources for ideas on hosting a refreshing, non-alcoholic reception.
Here are some suggestions: Water (bottled, sparkling, flavored, mineral, etc.), Tea (feel free to experiment with iced teas as well - add berries or garnish with mint leaves. Mint ice tea is soothing for nervous stomachs, while a sip of lavender tea promotes calmness.), Coffee (mochas, lattes, cappuccino, espresso. Finding exotic varieties of coffee is easy these days), Non-alcoholic beers and wines, Juices and/or smoothies (including blended protein drinks or other exotic beverages available at your local health food store), Punch, Soda (including caffeinated and decaffeinated colas, root beers and "un-colas"), Floats (malts, shakes or any other ice-cream drink), Exotic, non-alcoholic drinks ("virgin" cocktails such as pina coladas and bloody marys - don't forget Shirley Temples and Roy Rogers for the kids).

Not to sound mean or anything, but...
Maybe your guests would still enjoy some cider and champagne. Don't not serve any just because you don't like it. You and your husband can drink something different like Sprite or Crystal Light.
Congratulations and good luck!

Do you like gingerale, that would substitute nicely? that or skip the idea of champagne all together. You can have a signature drink, whatever you like. Put it in champagne glasses, martini glass or even shot glass. Its your wedding, give it your own personal touch.
Just make sure it reflects what you both like and it will be a hit.

We didn't have any champagne at our reception because we don't like it either. We just had everyone raise whatever they were drinking for the toast. You don't have to have champagne glasses.

Go to Beverages and More or Cost Plus and look at their selection. There are some really good sparkling lemonades there. You could always toast with Diet Pepsi, thats what we did for our wedding. Do what you want, its your wedding!

Whatever it is you both like to drink. No matter what it is it'll be your own personal touch that you'll remember forever. People will probably think it's cute!
