The name Lucifer occurs once in the Scriptures and only in some versions of the Bible. For example, the King James Version renders Isaiah14:!2:"How art thou fallen from heaven,O Lucifer, son of the morning!".
The Hebrew word translated "Lucifer"means "shining one".The Septuagint uses the Greek word that means "bringer of dawn"Hence, some translations render the original Hebrew "morning star" or "Day star".But Jerome's Latin Vulgate uses "Lucifer"(light bearer),and this accounts for the appearance of that term in various versions of the Bible
Who is this Lucifer? The expression "Shining One" or
"Lucifer" is found in what Isaiah prophetically commanded the Israelites to pronounce as a "proverbial saying against the king of Babylon".Thus,it is part of a saying primarily directed at the Babylonian dynasty. That the description "shining one" is given to a man and not to a spirit creature is further seen by the statement:"Down to Sheol you will be brought".Sheol is the common grave of mankind - not a place occupied by Satan the Devil. Moreover, those seeing Lucifer brought into this condition ask:"Is this the man that was agitating the earth?"Clearly Lucifer refers to a human, not to a spirit creature.-Isaiah 14:4,15,16

Lucifer means the lighter or the Illuminator or the bringer of light. It is actually a Latin translation so the meaning is not quite exact, It can also be taken as the Shining one which is part of a description of him as praise in the Bible.
He can be considered as a parallel to the Greek Character Prometheus. Prometheus stole the fire from the forge of the Gods and delivered it to man and was Chained to suffer Eternal torment as a result. Prometheus was one of the giants, the enemies of the Greek Gods.
Lucifer, gave man knowledge and the ability to think for himself, and as a result man lost the paradise of ignorance and Lucifer was bound to suffer eternal torment in hell.
This story appears in many other myth systems, they all carry the same ideas of illumination of intellect, in the Greek story the fire came from the Forge not the kitchen or heath indicating that it was related to knowledge and craft, In the Bible version it is the Fruit of Knowledge from the tree in the garden of Eden.

Satan and Lucifer are seen as the same thing.
In ancient Jewish tradition Satan is simply an angel doing the work that God assigned to Satan to do.
The word Satan means challenger. With the idea of Satan challenging us, or tempting if you will. This description sees Satan as the angel who is the embodiment of man's challenges. This idea of Satan works closely with God as an integral part of God plan for us. His job is to make choosing good over evil enough of a challenge so that it becomes clear to us that there can be only one meaningful or logical choice but good.
Contrast this to Christianity, which sees Satan as God's opponent. In Jewish thought, the idea that there exists anything capable of setting itself up as God's opponent would be considered polytheistic or setting up the devil to be an equally powerful polarity to god or a demigod.
Oddly, proof for The Christian satin/devil mythology is supposedly found in the ancient Jewish texts that were borrowed to create the bible. One can’t help but wonder how Christians came up with such a fantastically different interpretation of Gods assistant Satan in their theology.
Other hints about satins role in human relations can be seen if you look at the name Lucifer. It meaning in the original tongue translates as Light bearer or light bringer. Essentially the bringer of enlightenment. The temptations of the satin idea bring all of us eventually into Gods light. Hardly the Evil entity of Christian mythology.

Saten no longer goes by this name, He was not allowed to keep this name when he was cast out of heaven.
It should only be referenced to Saten as his former name, such as abram to abraham, Jacob to Israel, Saul to Paul.
While the above three were for the glory of God
Lucifer to Saten was a step into wrongness,so he lost the privilege of being a light of GOD.

Lucifer can be translated as "light bearer". Lucifer was a brilliant and beautiful spirit before he decided to rebel against God and became the devil.

Its really a Roman/Greek thing.
"Means "bringing light", derived from Latin lux "light" and ferre "to bring". This name originally referred to the morning star, Venus, but later became associated with the chief angel who rebelled against God's rule in heaven. Even later it became associated with Satan himself."

Lucifer is humanity's scape goat for sin.
We need to accept that we can sin for a reason, and that moral perfection is a mortal state is a bad thing. It is only once we reach God that we are meant to be perfect.
