Hell is where we are right now. We live in it.
If you really pay attention to most religions....I don't see why this wouldn't be considered as the truth. Living....we are in a physical plane, where we are more concerned about material things and ourselves - especially the people who go to church every time the door opens. They drive there in their SUV that they bought to one up the last couple at church that bought one.
Most religions teach about the soul...and the nonphysical. People can't even take their mind off of the "things" that they care so much about long enough to realize that they are living in hell.

What will you do when you die and find out God does exist? If you are opened minded at all you may want to read some of C.S.Lewis' works he was saved while attempting to dispel Christianity. One of the books that you may find interesting is his work called "Mere Christianity", you may also like "The Screw Tape Letters". anyway good luck because one of us is right and one of us is wrong and the only way we will ever find out what is heaven and what is hell is when we die, then which ever one of us is wrong is the one in for the big harsh sad surprise. I will pray that you will find the truth that there is a God and that you will, as Lewis did decide to embrace "mere Christianity.

Heaven and Hell are places on Earth. Heaven can be a walk on Central Park on Autumn or the red carpet at the Oscars Awards and Hell is probably Iraq or Somalia right now.
This is the only life and don't expect a better or worst place in an after life.

Hell is place were the souls of the damned go and reside. It's place far far way from the presence of God. Place that allot are dissented to go if they don't change their ways. Sin is a curse. Sin causes corruption. Sin means Death. The Lake of Fire. We need to remember hell might fit the Crime. In others words, what we do here in this world with out repenting and turning away from Sin . We make our own Hell to dwell in. That's just a opinion. If you don't think there is a God that's your choice.

Hell is eternal separation from God. I am pretty sure it will suck - bad. There is a song that gets played a lot on the radio called, "I had a bad day". Here are new words for the non believer:
I had a bad day.
I am burning in hell.
I am in a lake of fire.
The flames are really hot.
I had a bad day.
I am burning in hell.
I got blisters on my feet.
I am burning alive.
I am just trying to be funny with this. I don't mean to offend.

Hell, according to many religious beliefs, is a place or a state of pain and suffering. The English word 'hell' comes from the Teutonic 'Hel', which originally meant "to cover." "Hel" later referred to the goddess of the Norse underworld, Hel. Compare Anglo-Saxon helan, Greek kalyptein and Latin celare="to hide, to cover" (all from PIE *kel-).
http://www.bartleby.com/61/roots/IE214.html
To cover, conceal, save. Oldest form *el-, becoming *kel- in centum languages.
Derivatives include hell, hole, holster, apocalypse, and eucalyptus.
Therefore, if we die and go to hell, we get covered or concealed by the sands of time. The problem with the hell religion portrays is how can "An omnipotent (all-powerful), omniscient (all-knowing), and omnibenevolent (all-loving) God exist" and condemn his children to a place of torment.

Well then we won't find out anything because when our brain shuts down then there will be nothing, just an eternal dreamless sleep if atheists are right. And why do you say god does not exist? No proof is it? You're just skeptical? The typical atheist attitude.

So what are YOU going to do when you die and find out he DOES exist? Again I say, Einstein said: If there is a God and you believe, you've got it made, and if he doesn't you haven't lost anything, so why not just believe.
