I don't know who's going to beat Rocky's record. As you already know, Larry Holmes was 48-0 before he was defeated for the first time.
Valuev is currently 44-0. He'd need just five more fights to make 49-0, which might not be too hard, if only he knows when to retire.
In general, though, you never know what the future will bring.
If you're interested in strawweights with great records, too, "Finito" Lopez was 51-0-1, 38 KOs. He could have done much better than that (as far as records are concerned) had he gotten in some tune-up fights instead of title fights only for most of his career.

If Julio Cesar Chavez had made the Haugen fight his grand finale, he could have retired with 86-0-0. ;D

Knodd ~ in my view, there is an truly good probability that Valve will beat "The Rocks" list of 40 9 and 0 see you later as he keeps combating weak competition like Monte "2 guns Barrett, yet once he fights adverse to a guy that could crack it's going to be throughout for the Russian enormous. Who has he fought that has a huge punch? John Ruiz couldn't damage a egg. Larry Donald has feathers for fist. Owen Beck? Clifford Etienne? None of those adult males were popular as punchers. How about the different adult males he has fought names like Richard Bango, Tone Fido, Sinclair Babb, Patrick Slade and the ever everyday Yori Yeilstratov, actual no longer the finest of this era. Rocky Marciano fought the finest of his time, Moore, Walcott, Layne, Charles and l. a. Starza, those were the very ideal warring parties of his era and he wasn't given weak fighters to construct a undefeated list. Now that Don King is attempting to get keen about Valuevs occupation you better believe he will make positive Valuev will keep combating weak competition, i doesn't be a great deal surprised in the journey that they dusted off Chris Byrd to wrestle him. He were given hit with punches he wasn't assume to get hit with adverse to Barrett and became stricken by technique of the images, purely imagine him getting with those similar pictures from a heavyweight that could hit. Any of the "Heavyweight Champions" will beat him. Wladimir Klitschko can provide up him in lower than 5 rounds. thanks for the question Knodd.

REMEMBER I SAID THIS!!! It WILL be Nicolay Valuev, and let me tell you why. He is 43-0, like the Rock was when he won the title. Valuev is 7'0" tall, 340lbs. Klitschkos were the "giants" before this. He is not skilled enough to beat everyone in the division, BUT, King and the WBA will face him against 6 more losers, so he has the record. If he beats 6 losers also, the way the titles change hands, he'd (likely) be the longest current champion. He'll be the tallest, heaviest, longest reigning champ, with the Rock's record... why wouldn't the WBA/King want that?

Mike Tyson had a chance if he hadn't married Robin Givens.
Larry Holmes had a chance but they robbed him against Spinks, so that was gone.
Seeing the heavyweight division right now, they all stink, so probably someone to beat Rocky Marciano's record will not come around in our life time.

Would have liked to see Rocky fight Ali,
He could have done waht Frazier did with his left hook!
Rocky is underated though since he was not the public figure as Ali was!
Not sure if he would beat Jack Johnson with both in their prime, but 49-0 is perfect so props to Rocky!
If they beat the record, they only get a tie!

No one will beat it and as far as him being the greatest of all time well I have to disagree with you because when Rocky fought there were no good fighters at that era and also he had the Mob support with him so it was hard for him to lose.

Rocky was fiercely dedicated and determined. He used to run 12 miles a day when training and trained harder than any fighter who ever lived and man could he punch! Rest in Peace Brockton Blockbuster, your record is safe!

IF Rocky was 49-0, why didn't he try for his 50th? It's a great number to retire on. He was soooo close!?!?!
