I think they are part of the family of Abraham and as such at least deserve our respect just as main stream Islam respects Judaism and Christianity.

The biggest problem with Islam is that there is no one ultimate spiritual authority. Islamic groups which denounce violence are consistently oppressed and murdered by other Muslims for not being "truly" devoted.

Different countries have different religious leaders, yet they all feel free to comment, issue fatwas, but not take responsibility for the actions of those outside their domain.

With so many supposed authorities, whatever good part there may be in this religions message, is lost to the believer, even more so for the outsider.

I have issues with the polygamy, as this dehumanizes and marginalizes women. I consider this foolish, evil and Islam's ultimate doom.

The fact that the faith intrinsically espouses murder explicitly is hard to reconcile.
After all, Mohamed himself executed those he felt deserved it. He was both a secular leader and a religious one.

Buddha and Jesus did not. Both these faiths allow for far more tolerance. in a crowded world, this is vital for survival.

I see little room for compromise from a religion that believes that non-believers are evil at worst or misguided fools at best.

The conflict comes from a misguided sense of moral and cultural superiority that is not born out by observed fact. The believer becomes despondent that if their non-believer has more material success or wealth, then that Christian or Jew "must" therefore be in league with Satan.

"How else could a true son of Islam otherwise be made humbled by the inferior western dog?" That is where the hate begins and then it is exacerbated by competing religious authorities looking to enhance their secular advantages.

this whole faith may have adequately maintained stability in medieval times, but its time is soon coming to an end.

I feel sorry for them and their victims.

:) A person, the people who shout and deny only do so because they do not have a full understanding of the religion, and the fact that you point these things out scare them, so they do not know what to say. i cannot say that i am a scholar, or that i know ALot about being a muslim, but waht i CAn say is that ok, what you said is tru, but everything has been taken out of context and presented in a manner that does not explain the full meaning. in addition, there is a reason behind everything in the religion. For example, i am not exaclty sure of the reference, but Mohammed SAW knew that he would marry aisha AS for a reason - i think it was to cement the relationship between him and Ali AS or something i cannot remember, but he did not tell anybody, neither Ali nor aisha untill she was old enough to understand. another thing is, in those days women were marreid quite young, and being married at the age of 12 even was not unheard of. i dont deny anything you have sed, i just wish to explain that there is a valid reason behind all that is said.

Islam is the only religion which teaches the existence of a PERFECT God. A perfect God means that there is no sharer in His Nature and His Attributes:

"Say: He is God, the One and Only; God, the Eternal, Absolute; He begetteth not, nor is He begotten; and there is none like unto Him." (Holy Qur'an, 112:1-4)

THE HOLY QUR'AN(KORAN)The literal word of God, was revealed 14 centuries ago. It mentioned facts only recently discovered or proven by scientists. It is beyond reason that anyone fourteen hundred years ago would have known these facts discovered or proven only recently with advanced equipment and sophisticated .There are over 127 references to science in the Qur'an , all proved true by Christians Doctors and Scientist who then converted. This proves that Muhammad is The final messenger of God to all mankind and the people who will come in the future.

The Qur'an proves it self ..only God can provide the truth it contains it is miraculous in a number of aspects: Its linguistic perfection and inimitability, its validation by recent historical, archaeological, and scientific discoveries, its prophecies and so on. Unlike the miracles of other prophets before him, the miracle of the Qur'an is eternal

Islam's view of other religions is balanced, realistic and moderate. Islam doesn't view other religions as being either completely true nor completely false, but believes that all true religions were at one time divinely revealed. However, over time the teachings of the various religions, due to a variety of reasons, have become distorted and mixed with made-man ideas. But nonetheless, Muslims are required to be tolerant of other revealed religions since the Qur'an clearly says: "Let there be no compulsion in religion".

All rites of formal worship in Islam are based on Divine revelation, while the modes of worship in other religions are a mixture of Divine revelation, man-made traditions, opinions of clergymen and religious councils. , in Islam acts of worship such as prayer and fasting have been described by God and His Prophet in such detail that it gives human beings a feeling of assurance that the way they are worshipping God is pleasing to Him.

In other religions, even the ones which claim belief in "One God", people often approach God through an intermediary, such as a saint, an angel, the Virgin Mary or Jesus. However, it is only in Islam that a person is required only to pray to God

in Islam there are no priests or clergy -- each worshipper, man or woman, has a direct relationship with their Merciful Creator -- Almighty God. Since God is the Owner and Sustainer of everything, as well as the only one who can provide true and complete forgiveness, it is completely futile to try to approach Him through anyone else.

I encourage Christians and other religions to learn about Islam from Muslim sources and The Basis Of The Muslim Belief and not rely on second hand information which in many cases is distorted or contains a deep seated anti Muslim agenda. This is indeed a more scholarly approach. I think any one will not accept from his enemy to give informations to the world about his life and his belief

I KNOW that Islam teaches that people who convert out of Islam should be beheaded. I KNOW that the Koran says that husbands should beat there wives if they do not obey them. I KNOW that in Islam all non Muslims should pay a religious tax and feel humiliated. I KNOW that Islam supports the concept of Jihad which tells its followers that killing non Muslims in the name of God is OK. I KNOW that the "prophet" of Islam had sex with a nine year old girl. I KNOW that the "prophet" of Islam slaughtered all the men in a village after they surrendered to him. I KNOW that the "prophet" of Islam was a common thief and attacked caravans to and from Mecca. I KNOW that in Islam you consider drinking urine and dipping flies into your drinks medicine.

BTW, all the above are from your Koran and Hadith, i can give you specific references if you want.
I think you can come to your own conclusion about how i feel about Islam.

Ok, Here are the references you are asking for

For killing apostates

Kill whoever changes his religion" (Sahih Bukhari Vol. 9, book 84, number 57, narrated via Ibn Abbas)
and

"The blood of a Muslim who confesses that none has the right to be worshipped but Allah and that I am His Apostle, cannot be shed except in three cases: In Qisas for murder, a married person who commits illegal sexual intercourse and the one who reverts from Islam (apostate) and leaves the Muslims." (Sahih Bukhari Vol. 9, book 83, number 17, narrated via Abdullah)

For camel Urine

Yet Mohammed ordered some people to follow his shepherd and drink the camel’s milk and urine. Bukhari vol.7 book 71 no.589,590 p.399

Mohammed also said that camel urine is good medicine. Ibn-i-Majah vol.5 no.3503 p.38

Some Muslims were told to drink camel urine, they became apostates and killed the shepherd. Mohammed had their hands and feet cut off, and their eyes burned out. Sunan Nasa’i vol.1 no.308-309 p.255-256. See also Bukhari vol.4 book 52 no.261 p.162

For Fly in the drink

"If a fly falls in the drink of anyone of you, he should dip (in the drink), for one of its wings has a disease and the other has the cure (antidote for the disease) (1). Footnote (1) says "See Hadith no.673 vol.7th (for details)" Bukhari vol.4 book 54 no.531 prior p.335.

"Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet said, ‘If a house fly falls in the drink of anyone of you, he should dip it (in the drink), for one of its wings has a disease and the other has the cure for the disease." Bukhari vol.4 book 54 no.537 p.338.

For having sex with a nine year old

A’isha was Abu Bakr’s daughter. Her moth was named Umm Ruman according to al-Tabari vol.9 p.129. She married Mohammed when she was (six) 6 years old, went to his house when (nine) 9. Bukhari vol.7 book 62 ch.60 no.88 p.65; Sahih Muslim vol.2 book 8 no.3309,3310,3311 p.715,716

Contrary to this marriage being important for political reasons, Abu Bakr was the first convert to Islam.

This wife of Mohammed is mentioned in many places, including Sahih Muslim vol.1 book 4 no.1694 p.372; Abu Dawud vol.1 no.1176 p.305; vol.1 no.1268 p.335; vol.1 no.1330 p.350; Abu Dawud vol.1 no.1336 p.351; vol.1 no.1419 p.373; vol.2 no.2382 p.654.

‘Aisha played with dolls while Mohammed was present. Sahih Muslim vol.4 book 29 no.5981 p.1299

‘Aisha was 6 (or 7) years old when she was married, and the marriage was consummated when she was nine years old. al-Tabari vol.9 p.130,131

A’isha was married when she was six years old, and nine when she went to Mohammed’s house. Ibn-i-Majah vol.3 no.1876

For beating wives

sura 4:34

Men have authority over women because God has made the one superior to the other, and because they spend their wealth to maintain them. Good women are obedient. They guard their unseen parts because God has guarded them. As for those from whom you fear disobedience, admonish them and forsake them in beds apart, and beat them. Then if they obey you, take no further action against them. Surely God is high, supreme.

I can post more but it is a waste of space. BTW, I know what your defence will be. You will just deny everything as Muslims usually do. In response I encourage everybody in this news group to buy these books and read them. Yes, I, a non Muslim, am asking you to read the Muslim holy books. Then you will know that all the "LOL" and "you are wrong" they shout is stupid denial!

The same as everybody else: some are good, some are bad, most are in the middle, and some have so got to die. Their actions are their labels.
