well, hmm this is a question that really needs more info. How old is your computer, Is your hard drive full, do you have a virus scanner. Sometimes it is your internet provider. DO you have dial up? DO you have wireless. Is your computer encrypted. Are you running a pentium processor? Hope you find out whats up. Oh yeah, don't download weather bug that will mess your puter up. Thanks for the 2pts.

it is possible. it also could be the computer trying to create more virtual memory (vm) by dumping some old vm. the best ways to minimize this effect is to: a) not multitask, b) the limit the number of icons you have on your desktop, and c) limit the number of background programs running.

At least it is running slow. Have you ever tried chasing those things at high speed?

(Insert, ha,ha).

Try defragmenting the hard drive. Go to 'Accessories' , then 'System Tools', then 'Disk Defragmentor'.

It works for me.

Good luck and peace.

you may have a lot of windows open, you may have a number of other programmes running in the background, you may have a virus, you may have spyware running on your system, your system may need defragging, it may not be your system (the site you're connected to may be the culprit)
