2 to 3 weeks. I usually get it a couple times a year. It sucks! But this last time I got it, I discovered "Itch Nix Gel" by a company called "Quantum." It is WONDERFUL stuff! It doesn't really shorten the healing time, but it makes the process bearable. It stops the itch right away and it's all natural so you can use it as often as you need to. You gotta get some!

It depends on how sensitive, or allergic, you are to it, and what you are using on it.
If you are using a product like caladryl, it has calamine lotion and an agent to dry the poison out and stop the itching. But you have to keep the area clean, and apply this after each washing of the sites.
