I used to change my youngest brother's cloth diapers, but when I babysat other people's kids, thankfully they were regular diapers.

When I was (much) younger, I used to babysit. Back then (in the good old days) disposable baby diapers were just coming into being, so most everyone I babysat for was using cloth diapers.
I guess since it was the norm, it was just accepted that you had to deal with changing them and the messes that come with them.
When I grew older and married and my wife and I had our first child, we used cloth diapers. To me they were healthier for the baby, less costly than disposables and nothing went to the landfill, which I have always had a concern about.
As I got (much) older, I became incontinent (not, I'm not THAT old), it was caused by a medical condition that I have. I started out using disposable adult diapers but they were hot and uncomfortable to use and besides, one of those in a landfill is like half a dozen baby diapers.
I made my own cloth diapers to use. Yes, I wear them 24/7, including to work every day. I cover them with a pair of plastic panties as well. I have to wash them 2 times a week, mainly because I don't have too many yet to where I can go longer between washings.
I find that the cloth diapers are no more visible under clothing than the disposables and the plastic I use for the pants is very quiet, especially if you put a pair of underpants over them to help quieten them down.
So. . . . . I guess the answer is yes then and still is yes even today.
