Last year at school I got mostly F's and I was a complete follower. This new year I want to actually be more ssertive and let myself be heard. Last year becuase of the way I was I put off having a boyfriend. I put off friends and I didn't have a healthy relationship w/ family. I want to get along w/ my now pregnant sister so I can help her w/ her baby instead of hating her and neglecting it. I would like to make the right friends that understand me and I can confidently talk to. I want a boyfriend that I am( I don't know how to put) feeling and that I understand. I want to raise my grades. Last year I passed w/ 2 F's one in Math and one in an elective which they said wasn't important. But I am going to be a 9th grader next year and I want to be ready. So I want a boyfriend to enter the next grade with.Or atleast one that I can hang with.I want good friends that can help me.I want an understanding family and I want to improve my grades. It seemed liketutoring never helped. What can I do?

Just wanting to do better will probably help you. Some of the smartest kids I know are failing because they're aren't motivated. I dislike a lot of school, but I'm always on high honor roll, because I stick to it. Just don't give up, and be prepared to work hard for what you want. Pay attention in class, too, and you won't have to worry as much about tests or homework.

You are already well on your way. You made a very important decision to get on with your life and get more from it. You have a right to feel very proud of yourself for wanting this change...and I promise you, there are many good things in store for you now. You are very smart and have learned something very valuable that eludes (they don't "get it") some people for a life-time!
