Side effects can start almost immediately, give it a month or 2 and if there is no change see your doctor again. It takes a little while for your body to adjust to the changes, I wouldn't worry too much right yet.

I also just started on birth control. i am using a product called Yasmin. The breakthrough bleeding is normal, but only if you are not taking the pill regularly, exactly on the same time every day. I fyou are doing this then you may want to consider another brand. I have had absolutely no side effects and have just begun my second month on the pill. Yasmin has worked for both me and my sister so far.

I answered your other question like this and yes the pill just may not be for you I cannot take it or any other kind ie the ring or patch because they make me sick nausea headaches very tired crampy. some people just can't take them but before you give up totally see if you can take a lower dose with less hormones because I was able to take the pill for 10 years until I had my kids and since them almost 3 years ago I can no longer use B/C besides the condoms and those I do use

When I started on the pill I got really nauseous for the first month or so, I hear it's completely normal. Breakthrough bleeding is also one of the normal side effects. It's not necessary to stop taking the pills, just ask your doctor or pharmacist about your particular side effects and if there's a way to reduce them.

I started my first post partum period 2weeks ago, and am still bleeding. I started my pills the day I started my period. I called my doc. today, and he called me in a pres. for some provera(a hormone to regulate menstrual cycle). He told me the spotting should stop in a few days. He also told me to continue my b/c pills, so obviously he doesn't think they're the problem. Just hormones out of whack, i guess. Call your ob and tell them your situation. They'll straiten you out. By the way, Yasmin is what I'm on, and I've been taking it regularly..

I got breakthrough bleeding too. The nurse said it takes 3 full cycles when you begin a new Rx.
However, if you are getting headaches and feeling ill, you should ask for a different pill.
Good luck!

Yes I've started birth control pill, but what you said was right pills aren't for everyone especially not for me I ended up having 6 kids with that pill. I dumb at 1st but then I realize they weren't for me so I got my tubes tied. 3 boys and 3 girls. Maybe you should tell your doctor their not workin for you and that should help if not I don't know what to say. I hope I've help you.

It might pass but different ones have different side effects. I experienced that with some and not with others. The patch is horrible for such effects. What about Nuvaring?

i suggest your doctor change your pill. you would not be the first female to have to try different pill. have you tried wearing the patch?
