I have woke myself up snoring. But, do what I do when my husband has too many beers and saws logs. I go sleep in another room... Well I makes it stop! lol. I tug on his pillow when he is really going at it and it makes his breathing change. Well an elbow in the back will make them stop too. My grandmother had her adenoids removed that helped alot. Good Luck! ;)

Make the person sleep on their side. If that cuts out the snoring, sew a pocket on the back of a t-shirt and stick a tennis ball in the pocket right over the middle of the back, to keep the person from sleeping on their back.

If the person stops breathing while sleeping, they need to be checked by a doctor for sleep apneaa.

I can hear myself snoring sometimes. It wakes me up. When others snore, I go with the rhythm. Least you know everyone around you is still alive.

Have him/her get a sleep study. It could be obstructive sleep apnea; then a pulmonologist can do a CPAP titration and ya'll can get some sleep.
