I have a four month old pug puppy that came to me from the breeder paper trained...YUK! I used the crate training method with my two year old pug who did perfect and never once pottied in the crate. Not my new puppy...she pottys and poops in the crate, even if you just brought her inside. I know it takes time, but every puppy book I have read assures me that they will not potty in the crate (unless left too long of course). I have even partitioned the crate so she only has room to turn around. Think she will out grow this behavior? Any suggestions?

She is very young, make sure she is getting out often enough. She could be just goofing around outside instead of tending to business. I would go out with her and treat and praise as soon as she goes potty. Also use a word like "go potty" when she is going, eventually she will go on command.

I agree with you about paper training, YUK! Teaches them to go in the house.

Some puppies are just not as clean as others and don't mind going in their crate.

I think you should spend more time outside with the puppy and make sure it takes care of business out there first. The next step would be to keep in the crate a short amount of time at first then keep extending the time as you go along, leaving him in the crate longer and longer. Sometimes dogs need to learn that when they go outside that is when they have to use the bathroom. Hope that helps.

Depending on the amount of time you leave your pup- it just might take her some time. My puppy was also paper trained-- and I didn't want to have that in the house. People told me to section off the crate-- I did, but she had accidents -- making a bigger mess... I ended up leaving her in the big cage-- you have to be very consistent, I always gave her a treat when she went in-- so she knew it was a happy place. I also gave her a blanket... and covered the cage with blankets-- so she knew it was a place to sleep. I did leave those wet pads in there for her-- but in the beginning she just tore them up-- if she doesn't try to eat everything--you could try that---

But just encourage her while she's outside-- lay paper by the door-- and outside and give her treats when she goes outside-- she might just be growing-- and her bladder and such may not be big enough yet.

Good Luck!

This seems usual for one of those smooth dogs. placed her interior the crate in case you're abode and doing stuff (no longer only once you go away the abode for some hours). She must be calm in there. she will have the capacity to signal to you even as she needs to pee. even as she does, take her outdoors in the present day and advantages her with a manage once she pees. And keep on with with soothing words and some petting. supply her some water and then placed her again interior the crate. Repeat this as a lot as plausible; this can take a lengthy time period. She'll study a thanks to carry her pee longer. AND everytime she pees, you may want to sparkling the crate thoroughly. There may be no hint of pee interior the blankets or plastic bottom. If she will have the capacity to scent a drop of pee then she will have the capacity to imagine its okay to pee in there.

Hi, I understand that you are looking for some advice or resources to help fully train your dog or fix behavior problems. If a professional dog trainer is not an option at this time, or if you want to trt training your dog on your own (a great way to bond), I'd suggest you https://bitly.im/aMPdB

A friend recommened it to me a few years ago, and I was amazed how quickly it worked, which is why I recommend it to others. The dog training academy also has as an excellent home training course.

maby the crate is to big you should make the crate just big enough for him to sleep in and turn around, or else he will tend to pee in his crate

Grab your puppy by the back of it's neck, shake it violently, and then get right in it's face and yell "STOP SHITTING IN THE CRATE YOU LITTLE *****"
