Come on you 'bible bashers'... tell the truth.....some of us don't need the 'crutch' of religion, we can accept that we are born, live and die, contributing what we can during life, and making way for future generations to do the same!....it's quite simple really!

That crutch you call religion can be just that for some. But, for some of us it is an actual way to come closer to the one we call Father, Abba, or God. It is that relationship that Abraham once had, it is that conversation Moses had on Mount Sinai.

This crutch is the acknowledgement of we cannot do everything on our own and we do need help. We have an understanding that God will provide for us in many different ways and will help us through the tough times as well as the great times.

See, if we do everything ourselves then we will ultimately fail. We will see our lives as pointless and just something to go through while we are here.

The ones who are in with this so called crutch do not fear death. We fear God. We know without Him we will just die and realize the life we occupy now is really pointless.

Several billion people disagree with you. I don't believe in God because I need a crutch, I believe in God because His existence is painfully obvious in countless ways. It has nothing to do with what will happen after I die. Religion is many things to many people, but I would have ditched my faith a LONG time ago if I thought it was something I held on to out of insecurity or fear. The people who are afraid and insecure and the ones who ask these types of questions.

Not for me, but yet I have always had a personal path with Christ. I had my first real miracle at 4 years old.
I don't feel like it is a crutch, I feel like it expands me in everyway.
I wouldn't say I'm a 'bible-basher' either. I screw up like everybody else does, and I am no better than anyone else. I'm good with that, I just know my religion helps me be a better person. It's a personal choice.

I suppose it could be for some. But at the time I accepted the fact that Christ died for my sins, I didn't care if I lived or died. So, I guess, in my case it wasn't fear of what would happen after death.

Ummmmmmmmm...."bible bashers" isn't right. That's a term you would use for someone who is bashing what is in the Bible. I think you mean Bible Thumpers or something like that.

It is simple, but I think differently than you. I have no fear of what will happen after death. In fact, I welcome it. The only thing I fear is "how" I will die. I'd rather not suffer or cause my family long, dragged out suffering.

The simple part is to love one another and you are on the right path. Believe in God or not. You do this and you'll have a positive contribution to this world.

You want me to tell the truth? OKay, i'll tell it:

For God so loved the world he gave his only begotten Son, so that whoever believes in may not never perish, but have eternal life.

open your mind!

Believe me, knowing the Lord is not a crutch, it is a pure and genuine relationship that makes life on earth worth living. While I do believe in eternal life for God's people, I focus on the here and now...I serve God for the present time, not so I can be rewarded!

No. Religion is an individual's belief in what one firmly believes or KNOWS will happen after death. Simplicity is knowing that one is living according to the tenets of one's faith, doing what one can during life to serve God and, therefore, our fellow human beings.

By the way, maybe your question is YOUR individual expression, YOUR way of seeking out the truth. The truth and reality of God. YOUR way of trying to find religion. Think about it!

Forget religion.

Christ is the path of salvation.
Christ is the truth of God's Word.
Christ is the life eternal.

Joh 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Christ is the tree of life.

Gen 3:22 And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever:

Well I’m a wimp and not religious, I think religion makes you braver, I mean if you think 100% you are going to heaven think of the freedom in that, compared to me thinking “what if there is nothing” and I slip in the shower, I’m so jealous of religious people, it is a form or delusion but what a great one to have, but in a sense maybe I’m braver then them and you because I’m admitting it - I JUST DON’T KNOW, if there is or isn’t a god/ gods but I cant wait till I find out
