Look around your world today. It can easily be seen that more than 95% of our world's contemporary combat-related problems come from Muslims, mosques, and Imams while fewer than 5% come from churches, synagogues, and Buddhist temples. I believe the reason why this is the case is because Islam is hardly a religion. Quite basically, Islam is an authoritarian constituency that uses religion to:
1) Control the actions of large groups of people by claiming God wants them to perform certain actions
and 2) Absolve itself from criticism by using the claim that the group is acting according to the will of God.

The above statement is my personal opinion. You may disagree. But whether you agree or not, the question can still be answered objectively.

Once again: At what point does the manifestation of a religion or religious conviction become a war crime?

PAY CLOSE ATTENTION TO THE QUESTION!

But for the record, yes, I *do* believe the Catholics were wrong when they engaged in the Inquisitions, the Crusades, etc. My appologies for not BEING INCLUSIVE OF WORLD HISTORY in my introductory paragraph. I thought that, since I can't mention everything that has happened to date on this planet in 1,000 characters or fewer, I might as well use contemporary events.

Are Catholics historically the biggest killers on the planet? Is the Qur'an truer than the Bible? Am I in need of a history class? If you want answers to these questions, click the "ask" graphic above and ask them! This thread is asking something else.

You can't call what they do "war crimes", because these people are cowards that don't wear uniforms like soldiers of war. They don't fight fair... People that kidnap the innocent, strap bombs to themselves, and family members are hardly warriors. They're cowards that indeed hide behind religion. I'll bet Al-Zarqawi found out that there aren't any 72 virgins in hell.

The manifestation of a religion is never a war crime. The things you are refering to, are complicated. To the extent they flow from Wahabism, that is a misinterpreting evil cult that brainwashes ignorant unemplyed youth to do their bidding for selfish purposes. That covers most of the terrosit actors. The Israeli conflict includes some of that, but also crosses over to more traditional alignments over territory, resources, security, & power.

In either case, War Crimes are specifically defined & have nothing to do with religion, but the acts of men generally ignoring their religion's teachings to do evil things in its name. If you're trying to press the fact that we're at war with all of islamic extremism, and not just al queada, well you're right about that.

"95% of our world's contemporary combat-related problems" must have at least 2 parts, if one part is Muslims, the other part is undoubtedly Christians and Jews. Who created and participated in 2 world wars ? Who made the crusades ? Who slaved the black man from Africa ? Who diminished the Indians of America ? Who colonized the rest of the whole world from Africa all the way to Far East ? So you washed you bloody hands now and blaming "Muslims" for everything happening now ?
