like i love you or i miss you? my friend has been having guy trouble and it seems most of these guys are saying how much they like her and then a week later they break up....or my ex's coming back proffessing there love, asking if i will be content spending the rest of my life with them, and then not calling for a week or two...what is the reason behind this?

or what about the guys who break up with the girl who then cry to have them back only to do it all over again...is there an alterior motive? if so can you please tell me?

i dont think it is necessarilly done to get in to someones pants because they do this even when there is a healthy sexual relationship...are they insecure? or just insensere?

I'm not trying to be rude at all when I say this but I wonder why your friend finds herself with these types of guys. Not all guys (or girls) are like that. Most people follow a pattern in the type of people they are attracted to and find themselves in relationship after relationship with the same type of person with the same type of problems. I might suggest that people who find themselves in this rut may want to look at themselves and figure out why they are attracted to these types of people who are wrong for them.

Similarly too, guys who are like that have their pattern of behavior and are attracted to women who will put up with it.

If a guy is treating you like that, forget about him and move on. He's wishy washy at best and manipulative to say the least. Set a goal and create an image in your mind of what type of person you truly want to be with. Don't be too picky because we all come with baggage, the trick is to find someone with a similar amount of baggage that we can handle (and they can handle ours).

I'm not immune to this pattern either. I'm not saying that I know everything about the subject but these are some things that I have learned along the way and I hope my experiences can help.

A former girlfriend of mine was fond of the phrase:
It is a smart person who can learn from their mistakes, it is a true genius who can learn from other peoples mistakes.

I'm a guy and it's something I don't understand. It's not a personal slight though, I think I just have a different way of trying to find what I need. The main problem is probably more likely to be insecurity because I think insincerity is born from insecurity. It can be difficult to know exactly what you want sometimes. For guys and girls alike. Maybe your friend is just insecure too which is no unnatural thing for a young person. It can be difficult to know if your serious about somone so some personal irrational testing seems to be the only way for us young people to figure it out. The whole thing can be really confusing. Hopefully we'll all get there in the end.

I could ask you the same question - as a male.. Are you saying that women don't say things that they don't mean?? In my opinion, you get that kind of behavior from both men and women, we are all individuals and all behave differently. It's just how one chooses to interpret an others' behavior.
I have had some of the nastiest comments I've ever had put to me from my ex-girlfriends. The slinging matches of who can hurt the other the most. We all do it. I do.
I can't say that I have the answer for you, nor do I think the question can be answered without bias. Basically, no-one likes getting hurt, and when we do, we look for a whipping boy. No-one likes to embarrass themselves or be put in awkward situations - again, we look for a cop-out. Being responsible for your own actions is the key. Don't put yourself in a situation that you are not completely comfortable with - relationship wise. And expect nothing of no-one. Then everything is a bonus! ;) Good luck ;)

I was once like that before I grew up and realized that if you can't say something nice, don't say nothing at all. In spite of all I have learned I treat ladies now with respect and I it makes me feel good about myself as well.

They just keep trying to be with a chick they are not compatible with. But then a couple of days go by and they get horny again.Or maybe some of them are actually sincere?

Unfortunately, dishonesty, insecurity, insincerity , etc. know no gender. If you are that type of person, that is what you do.
