At least ten dollars an hour. You're doing an important job and should be paid well. My mom pays her nanny 15 dollars an hour w/ benefits.

I pay $6 an hour in Florida. I talked to the girls who do my babysitting and that was a good total for both of us. I paid more when my youngest was still in diapers. I also give extra $$ depending on the day and time. At night if the kids are in bed I pay normal. For a Saturday afternoon I add extra.

You should charge $15 and $7.50 per child. Like 1 kid would be$22.50 for 1 hour. And 2 kids would be $30 (15 + 7.50*2) for 1 hour.

I run a daycare. Occasionally I get numbers of other daycare providers out of the ads in the newspaper, and call to ask what they charge. This helps me stay inline with what others are charging around me.

Call and ask.
Then evaluate what you're worth? What can you provide that other babysitters can't?
