She says that it hurts, like pricks her, it's a perfect circle, a little raised. It almost looks like there are pickers on the inside of it.

If it hurts really bad, it might be shingles. Type in "pictures of shingles" in your search bar and see if you think that is what she has.

If there is dis-colorization around it or not, she should go see a dermatologist asap. Usually, when something shows up on the skin that has never been there before and you can not account for how it got there, it could be skin cancer. I do not want to scare you, it could just be that the doctor removes it and all is done, or it could be worse. Have it checked immediately, seriously---this is your mom we are talking about. No fooling around--get her to the doctor. Best of luck to you and her.

Might be a spider bite. Watch it and if it gets any larger I would call Doctor. The Brown Recluse Spider has a bite that damages skin.Do you have Benadryl, if so give hr some Benadryl to stave off an allergic reaction.

if there is some discoloration it might be really bad. if she had something hit her or was burned there it is nothing to worry about. but... if there is discoloration without any outside influence, it could be something like leprosy. call your local doctor and have him take a look.
