Is abortion a "woman" or "unborn child" issue?

Should abortion discussions be more about women's rights or unborn children's rights?

Unborn child's rights. Women can think for themselves, chose not to put themselves in situations where they might get pregnant, chose to use a more effective form of birth control, chose to carry a baby to term. An unborn baby is voiceless...somebody has to look out for his best interests.

Maybe a little of both -- but it is the baby that is affected the most.because she is now dead.

If you believe in woman's rights, then keep in mind that half of all the fetuses aborted are female !!! If a female fetus does not have the right to live, because she is being aborted, then what good does it do to give her the right to vote, work, etc. since she will never live long enough to exercise these rights?

If you assume that a embryo or fetus is a human being, then why should the innocent baby have to suffer for the mistakes of the parents?

Regulating abortion is NOT the same thing as telling people when and where to have sex, as some people have argued (The sex has already been done at that point, so stopping abortion would not stop the sex.). Regulating abortion is simply telling people that they have to be responsible for their mistakes. What's wrong with responsibility?

I agree with the people that stated that abortion should not be used as simply another form of birth control (which it currently is). If you don't want a baby, there are so many other alternatives -- condoms, pills, no sex, etc. Obviously, some abortions are necessary if carrying the baby to term would unduly put the life of the mother at risk (all births are slightly risky to the mother, but some, like tubal pregnancies -- will never carry to term and obviously pose an unacceptable risk, so they would be justified).

And speaking of no one having the right to "play God" with other people's lives -- as as at least one person argued in a related posted question -- isn't taking the life of a fetus (abortion) the ultimate way to "play God", since you are deciding if someone else (the fetus) has a chance to live out her life or not?

I've heard people's arguments that it is better for an unwanted fetus to be aborted, rather than to grow up abused & unloved, but do we really know that? There have been many people who have come from abusive or otherwise difficult backgrounds, but have overcame their difficulties and have lived very productive lives as adults. Some of these people have benefited society immensely as a result of their work. Had they been aborted, our society would have never reaped the benefit of their lives' work.

Of course the pro-choice will say it's a woman's right to kill an unborn baby. Mothers and other caring individuals will tell you that a baby is a baby even inside the womb and nobody should be able to take that baby's life away. I don't know how some moms can be pro-choice - it doesn't make any sense to me. Here I sit, feeling my baby kick as I type this. She hears and feels what I do! How could I take that away from her so selfishly and in such a cruel and inhumane way? I couldn't, and I would never dream of doing it. Abortion is murder. No matter how you slice the cake, it's still cake.

Unborn children's rights. Because when someone gets an abortion your taking away the right for them to live, they don't even have a "choice" about it. People say it's just a fetus & so it doesn't effect their conscience. Are you kidding me? How does it just become a baby? Babies are BABIES from the time you conceive. It doesn't matter how small they are.

Its the Democrats thing , there the ones always for abortion since they get the most of there money from pro - abortionist groups.If you pay attention to the Democrats they say " at 5 months your baby is not a person , but they say at 5 months you can get a abortion..... How can a woman get an abortion at 5 months if a woman is not pregnant at 5 months ? Don't kill our future , save our future.

Its a woman thing it should be an unborn child right it did nothing wrong im completey against it unless of one certain incident rape even then i think adoption is best some one wants the child please dont kill but if you laid down on your own you can give birth to a baby whether you keep it or not

every time I look at my son I know that children are never a mistake no matter how wrong the time they are a blessing. Everyone deserves to live.
I'm not judging anyone who has gotten an abortion or believes in them. I just think that people need to used absence as their first method of birth control. Before they use abortion.00000....

it is a societal challenge. there's a element called morals which use to teach young ones that having intercourse out component of marriage replace into incorrect, and now it isn't any huge deal to have a newborn at 12 or 13 years previous. i think society could desire to hold the mother and dad in charge for their infants getting pregnant. Abortion isn't a variety of delivery administration. women human beings could desire to have seen the outcomes whilst they desperate to place on their backs and have interaction in unprotected intercourse. women human beings are going to contend that it takes 2 to make a touch one, yet like the girls human beings say who's physique is it so cope with the outcomes. Then there are going to be those to develop what if the lady is raped? maximum human beings of the those that are having abortions weren't raped.
