justme, don't go ordering people how to think and what to do. You are an atheist too, you don''t believe in Zeus, or Shiva, or Lord KRSHNA, or the muslin Allah, or millions of other gods. You are a partial atheist as you believe in one god, but reject all the other gods, while I am a complete atheist and do not believe in your god either. We agree on 99.9% on the existence of all the known gods.

The Bible was indeed written by men; however, it was inspired in them by the Holy Spirit. That's how it came about over the centuries. It's pretty cool of God to do it this way. How else could several different authors in different times and places contribute to an overall work that is not contradictory in any way? I always thought that was really awesome.

God Bless

God inspired chosen men with the words they used. He did it in such a way that the words these men wrote were truly their own words (the Bible is not dictated) yet at the same time, it is the very Word of God to us. Lots of other issues come into play here: how do we read a text today written 1,960 years ago in the Ancient Near East? etc.

The aposle Peter said: “You know this first, that no prophecy of Scripture springs from any private release [or, comes out of private disclosure]. For prophecy was at no time brought by man’s will, but men spoke from God as they were borne along by holy spirit.” (2 Pet. 1:20, 21, margin) Peter also said: “It was necessary for the scripture [writing] to be fulfilled which the holy spirit spoke beforehand by David’s mouth . . . God spoke through the mouth of his holy prophets of old time.” (Acts 1:16; 3:21) Yes, indeed, the Bible writers wrote, but they wrote under the activating force of the one holy spirit of Jehovah God. They wrote as God’s earthly instruments and wrote in God’s holy name.

God didn't write the Bible. God gave men the knowledge to write the Bible. God's Holy Spirit dwelled in the hearts and minds of these prophets and teachers and they were blessed of Him to share and tell the story of what God wanted us to know.

Look in the front of your Bible. Who is the publisher? It's just a normal publishing company that publishes a lot of books as part of their business, right? Books, of which the Bible is one, are all written, printed and distributed by human beings. When God wants to tell you something he will do it in His way, not man's way.

God did not write the Bible. It was written by a collection of his followers and faithful servants, thus the names of the different books of the Bible. You should try reading it some time. :)
