No, age is not "just a number", however....2 yrs, once you've hit adulthood, isn't that much...guys tend to mature a bit slower than girls though so take that into consideration...if you like this guy though, there's no reason not to move forward over a 2 yr gap...he's not a minor so you're not cradle robbing...
Go for it...I don't see anything "abnormal" about it...
